Reading through this, it seems like if you have a strong 15-16 available this week you’re probably going to be ok. If you have 17, or can trade for a 17, you can make some serious headway.

I, of course, can do neither. Injuries, no trades, and more bad decisions that most has seen me flatline since about R21. But having started my rookie year on a whim with NFI about how to play a not-draft fantasy game, I’m already excited to get to next season and do it properly.

    My 'wasted' trades so far:

Round 3: Burns in for Capewell (Burns got injured so traded the following week)
Round 11: Farah in at 729k, had him for 5 weeks and averaged 35, traded out for 562k
Round 12: Reynolds in, got injured, traded out the following week
Round 13: Dearden in, injured in first 5-10 minutes, traded out following week
Round 14: Milford in, injured in second game of owning him, traded out in round 16
Round 21: Farah in, injured in first 15 minutes, trade out following week

This is why I've had no trades left for the last 3 weeks of the season. It hasn't actually hurt me the past two weeks but this week I could have 14/15 players...

Currently with 1 trade left I’m sitting on this:

I think I’ll trade McInnes out. Who should I get out of Lolo, Mau, D. Fifita, JFH or Watson?

    Team currently is:

    Cook
    Fifita Haas
    Murray Arrow Taupau
    DCE Moses
    Bateman Nikora
    Tedesco Ponga RTS

    Smith Tevaga Verrills Kahu

McInnes Tommy T Boyle (all injured and then Coates red dot)

Jeez those are some really bad ones. My 'wasted' trades are the following:

Round 1: Tatola to Host, did this to fund Twal to Bateman, so not entirely wasted, but I ended up selling Host the following week after scoring 14, so cost me an extra trade.
Round 11: Lawrie to Tolman, did this for r12 coverage but Tolman was straight trash until I replaced him with TKO
Round 14: Tolman to TKO, not the worst trade ever since I couldn't have predicted TKO getting concussed, but still sucks
Round 14: Garrick to M Kenny, this one was so wasted. Garrick seemed to be losing money and I thought Kenny would make more than he did. Ended up cashing out Kenny in R16 for a tiny cash gain.
Round 22: DBrown to Moses, I was chasing hard and Moses hasn't gone too well since I got him. Would have been great to hold those last 2 trades but I was worried I'd get burned hard by not owning Moses.

On the other hand, my best trades have been the following:

Round 4: Burns to Xerri at 212k
Round 5: AK to Rein, ended up scoring nicely up to round 12 and I was able to sell him directly to CS9 in round 13.
Round 6: Sivo to Wighton, while it sucked seeing Sivo go on a huge run of tries after selling, getting Wighton at 524k was a massive play that shot me right up the ranks. I only got him in because I couldn't afford Sivo to Ponga directly, so having less money actually helped me.
    Round 12: DBrown to To'o at 212k
Round 16: TKO to Tevaga at 527k, got a much cheaper player who ended up averaging way more, and funded my Mahoney to McInnes trade that week.
Round 19: Fainu to Papalii, this one is probably my best of the year. I had no FRF cover when Fifita got suspended, and I was 4k short of selling Fainu to Klemmer. I was only going to sell Fainu to cover FRF since I had reasoned that I would need to sell him eventually anyway and didn't want to use an extra trade selling someone else. Papalii seemed the best of the 600-650k FRFs and he's scored quite a bit more than both Klemmer and JFH, who were the obvious replacements

I definitely made some good trades, but the main ones I pointed out were from injuries and having to use multiple trades trading players in and out in a short space of time, that's what has really hurt the most.

Trading Fifita in 3 weeks ago has really worked out well. I might 'chase points' and even captain this week. YOLO.
Let's not forget trading Haas in at 231k and so far profiting almost 700k from that trade alone cheer
Jazz into my team in round 15 has also been amazing. McInnes the following week, incredible.

Tossing up between Haas, Bateman and Fifita for C this week. Cook, Murray, Taumalolo and Teddy have tough matchups, Smith could get an early rest, McInnes is injured.

Haas ripped up the Dogs pack last time and I made him captain that game because of that exact reason (70 in 57 minutes), so looking like the best bet this week. Bateman will probably get 80 against a Warriors team looking for the season to end (74 against them 5 weeks ago) and Fifita is a huge smokey that I might even punt with (65 against Dogs last game)

I considered trading in Jazz, but was concerned about the injury he was playing through. Apparently he's unbreakable, unlike SJ and Turbo

Is Mau the best bet to bring in for McInnes? Or Brooks, Papalli, moses, DCE? Watson?

Hard to guess for one week... I’d say not JFH out of those named, because I don’t think he has as high a ceiling as the rest.

Would also say no to Lolo. He is still carrying that injury and could get an early shower or less minutes. Against the Storm as well.

D Fifita seems pretty unstoppable at the moment and now the Dogs season is actually over, they might clock off after 20 mins next week. Watson probably pumps out another big score against the Panthers..

It really is a lottery though, for one week. Just go gut feel.

It's not that he's unbreakable, quite the opposite - he's always broken he just gets up and keeps going somehow. The kid is an absolute soldier.

Nothing to lose at this stage. Just traded him in and putting the C on him.
