    Round 1 ranking: 13803
    Lowest ranking: 13803 (round 1)
    Highest ranking: 884 (round 20)
    Current ranking: 893

Not my best year but considering round 1, can't complain.  Quite a few things went against me.  After a few years playing this game, I think I still play too conservative.  Need to be more aggresive next year. Holding onto Edwards, Holland, Morris and Macca for way too long cost me in the end I think. Trading Garrick after the first round instead of those others I think was a major blunder.

    Other stupid things I did were;

Trading Jack Bird in at round 3. (Should have gone without him)
Trading Mahoney out in week 4. I then traded him back in in round 8 then back out again in round 17.
Trading Teddy and Lomax in the week they both didn't play.
Trading in RTS at premium price when I could have waited 3 or 4 weeks.

    There's a few others.

The real kick is, I've traded Mahoney out then back in, Watson in then out and then back in. Fifita out, then back in, then out and now back in again. Fuckin' hell.

Yeah, some of the risks I've taken this year (selling Sivo to Wighton in round 6 instead of to Ponga, selling Fainu to Papalii instead of JFH in round 20, captaining Teddy and McInnes in weeks where everyone was on Cook or Haas etc.) have been the reason I'm in 80th and not 1800th.

That said, some of them have blown up in my face, such as selling Garrick before he went on a tryscoring run, and wasting 2 trades to get Moses in who wasn't that flash, leaving me with no trades to cover Burns, McInnes, SJ and Munster getting injured, but it hasn't been too bad for me this season.

Made some real poor trade choices this year - especially earlier on!

Midway through Round 1 - Sivo - Sele
Round 2 - Sele - Host (Instead of Lawrie)
    Round 3 - Holland - Katoa
Round 5 - Keighran - Staggs (Instead of Hass)
    Round 14 - CNK - TKO

Paul Turner, Warriors junior half who has a big future touted at the club has won the Warriors Sonny Fai medal (jr player of the year).

Former recipients include Kevin Locke, Elijah Taylor, Peta Hiku, Bunty Afoa and Chanel Harris-Tevita.
History suggests getting this medal means you're gonna play first grade sooner rather than later.

I love the "Karl Lawton goes undercover..." Segment.
As if anyone in Auckland knows what Lawton looks like let alone who he is.

i actually can't believe they keep just trotting out basically the same forward pack every week. its clearly not working.

I suppose given the outlier of 3-4 guns getting injured last week it’s worked out well, but more generally it seems like there’s an opportunity cost there for holding 2 to the end (or even 3 to the last 2 weeks).

He’ll basically be able to get any two players he wants this round. But sitting just under 100 points behind he might have been better using one of those trades a couple of weeks earlier to attempt to make some more ground.

I’m not criticising because that would be ridiculous given his season and my season, just using the situation to highlight more of a theoretical question about optimising trades.
