Finished ranked 203, 29 spots worse than last season, so a bit disappointed with that. Hoping for top 100 next year.

I’ll also add thanks to everyone for advice and lols. Especially mtb for his site that I discovered 2 days before it went down for reasons. Was relieved to see it restored, then not long after found this place too. Definitely helped me push from about 7k ranked mid-season up towards 2k before dodgy last trades made to early saw me drop back to almost 3k. Next year might register and pick a team more than a day before the season starts...

Fainu, Brimson, Papenhuyzen all have had numerous bench games and should have starting HOK and FB spots next year respectively. Some other HOKs moving clubs like Koro & J Brailey also probably undervalued but probably slower burning cash cows
Friend played well in games he played and should have injury discount for less than 10 games. Similar out and out guns include Cleary with no Maloney
CTR probably going to be a crapshoot again with no Bateman and Nikora
Add Robson heading to Cowboys next year. Not sure on his role. Ramien may be a nice shout if he ends up back at Sharks.
Just did up a quick list of players in each position. (Probably not the best outline as off season signings/injuries may occur. Plus younger players coming up and into position). This is based off those players on the NRLF website now.
HOK
H.Grant (watch this space)
Koro @ Panthers
Fainu
Robson (depending on role)
NZ Hooker
Doggies Hooker
Turpin (if he overtake AMc)
Both Braileys
FRF
Cowboys - Jensen/Molo (whoever takes Scott's spot)
RCG - going to the Eels?
Welch - Eels or Storm?
Tigers forwards
Liam Knight
Ese'Ese if he finds a starting spot
2RF
Stimson
CHN
Wright/Dunn
Sharks Lock (Magoulias/Williams)
Capewell (Knights??)
Niukore
Young/Tapine (Lock?)
TPJ as always
HLF
Broncos HLF (Deardon/Paix/SOS)
Dragons HLF (If not Norman)
T.Boyd
Luai
CHT
Cust
Flanagan
L.Lewis
CTR
TAKE YOUR PICK... Might have to go GUN/GUN
WFB
Perese/Coates/Farnworth (doubt they get a gig anywhere)
Sailor/Lomax
Brimson
CNK - cheap enough plus another year older/wiser
Turbo - finished season at 547K
Looks to be plenty of value in the HOK/2RF/HLF spots next year.... as always

I'll probably built my team around Haas & Cook (C and VC), David Fifita will also make the cut

I think that will be a very cookie cutter start with majority building around Haas/Cook and throwing in a gun 2RF as Tolo/Fifita/Rymat/maybe even Murray. I think if you can, pick up a gun WFB/HLF in your starting teams, but as history shows, these players will ebb and flow in price a lot.
Also, I think next year I really want to focus on starting with a small amount of Origin players, just to save trades through that origin period and end by getting those Origin stars in my team as they seem to all bottom out around Origin period.

I started pretty cookie cutter this season, I'll probably consider Jazz to start the season in the 2rf.

Normally the best way to start and then pick up your POD's along the way. Better to start on par with everyone and then pull ahead then to start behind everyone and try make up ground. Obviously, luck comes into play and you may pick a POD or two to start and they rip in and you begin ahead of everyone.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 84
Good to see all the posts re next year. I don't think he's been mentioned but with Farah retiring then Liddle could get the starting hooker gig but he seriously needs to bulk up in the off season because he's so brittle & easily injured.
I want just mention on picking players some fire early on & fade & vice versa. Can guys like Tevaga, Barnett & D. Fifita start next season like they finished this year. Barnett I think finished the 2018 season like this year & did nothing early on in 2019 but came on strong in the 2nd half of the season. Tevaga was the same. Will D. Fifita be the same. A guy like C. Walker always starts the season on fire & fades. L. Mitchell starts the season slow & winds up later on. Arrow starts the season strong then gets injured & once back he struggles a bit especially after his origin workload. These are just a few examples. Some players like to fire early & other players like to build up momentum as the season progresses.

I'd probably steer clear of Jazz at the start of next season or at least keep an eye on what his role is in the trials.
Kearney has said now that he wants to change the way Jazz plays. He realises he's a small guy in a role usually played by guys 15-20kg heavier and it's not sustainable for his body to keep playing how he is. What that means remains to be seen.

I was strongly considering Liddle until he went down, he won't have much of a pre-season so is likely a no-go for me at this stage.

Warriors are in need of a hooker.

More ball-playing and less tackling I'd imagine.

Not Jazz, he's always better in the pack and not at hooker.

With his injury history, he is on my no-go zone for next until he can put together a full season injury free. He joins Dugan and Arey. I will give Burns the benefit of the doubt. Should have a long time to get over his hamstring problems mentally and physically.

You do know Stephen Kearney is the coach right?

I can't see myself starting with Haas next year.
He'll be the most expensive player in the game, and do you really think he'll be able to kick on from this years average of 67?
There is not a single low score involved to give him any sort of discount. Will be such better value elsewhere.
At least Cook has a few low scores around origin to keep his average down.

Yes and he's a spud but it's pretty obvious Jazz isn't a hooker and has stated he prefers to be at 13.

On averages, can we just all take a step back and appreciate Cam Smith for overtaking Cook as the premium Hooker again. Couldn't quite grab top dog but he just looks so cocky sitting there now knowing he is the best Hooker in the fantasy game again.
