Brisbane will score more points this year and he will make more running metres and have more tackle breaks.

So hard to pick, both he and Brimson could explode.

Why are we expecting Brisbane to be better this year? Settled in with coach, new half? Not saying it won’t happen, but relying on a team to do well and it’s being reflected by high scorers by the goal kicker didn’t work out well for croker.

Haven't seen Holmes mentioned at all? Any reason?

Also - if Corey Jensen makes the cowboys side I reckon he's decent value

Burns, Best, Lomax, Milne, Talau seem to be the popular options.

If I wasnt going Haas and wanted a cheap captain, David Fifita would be my choice

Talented young forward pack that will be better this season than last, (their best 2 players were in their first seasons as starters and teenagers), no Boyd at fullback, Croft arriving which resolves a major weakness, better balanced  team all round.

I’ve made my top 8 up, I have Brisbane 5th. Exactly what you say is why I think they’ll improve and the fact their younger towards are a year older.

They very well may suck, but reduced roles for Boyd and McCullough, the introduction of Croft who fills a massive gaping dynastic hole in the team even if he is mediocre and the beastly forward pack with another year under their belts? It's promising. Seibold is 12 months out from the drama of his hiring as well and should feel more comfortable going into year 2 as well imo

At batemans price point I'd go Taumalolo

I commented on this a few days back. The players I see as captain worthy

    Haas
    Cook
    Smith
    McInnes
    Taumalolo
    Bateman

They all have a combination of solid floor and high ceiling you want from a captain. At worst they are gonna dish you up mid 40s as captain(barring injury). At best all are capable of a century. So I guess the cheap option is Bateman

I've seen a lot of people mention they wouldn't have Laui anywhere near their 17 because Cleary is dominant etc. But how is that any different to Dylan Brown last year? I had him in my 17 rd one last year, a lot of people had Brown and Keighran as their starting halves. Further, a lot of people are also talking about spending as little as possible at centre putting say Best/Talau for example. So why would you have a rookie playing at centre in your 17, but not a relatively experienced half?

Wouldn't spending some money on say Burns/Lomax and going cheap at jersey 17 with Luai be better than going cheap at centre and spending that money at jersey 17?

The only downside I can see is that if Luai's at 17, it means you need to find four other cheapies for your nprs which may or may not be possible.

Too risk for mine when his floor is a 40 minute bench stint

Centre is a waste land where even the "guns" can dish up a sub 20 on any given week. I'm way more comfortable taking a chance on a rookie in that position, rather than a halves position where the jump from reserve grade to first grade is enormous

Geez I hope this Momorovski and Grant swap happens, I could then look at having Grant in my 17 and  Luai as 18th man.

If Grant starts at 9 for the Tigers, he will be last years Nikora. The 1 player that starts in every serious team.

There are a lot of other players that are going to be very popular, but Grant at 9 would be the top.

He is already the 14th most popular player in the game, and the swap hasn't even happened yet
