I hope so. I didn't see the article. I was just told about it by someone as though it was happening.

Hey guys, so I have decided to go for a cow along with Cleary in the halves. Right now I have Mann in there with Luai in the reserves, but was just wondering if there is any point of Mann? I am starting to think I may aswell just start with Luai and get that extra 100k as they will play similar roles in their team and probs get around the same points. Thoughts?

Couple of guys who have been mentioned recently

Zane Tetevano - mid 30s scorer when starting. Priced at 27 there is a little bit of value there, but not enough to get truly excited by.

Danny Levi - Best case I think he can get mid to high 40s. Priced at 36. Its good, but at the moment I'd rather Koro, Brailey and Grant. He's in the mix, but at the moment doesn't quite crack the best 21 for me. Maybe if something happens in trials (or doesn't happen, in the case of Grant) then Levi may become more viable

I'm swinging around to including Haas, despite his hefty price tag.

AFifita's knee issues have me concerned. Even if I pick him he won't be a captaincy option to start the year.

I was big on Ryan James but obviously he's not an option now.

There's just not a lot to excite me in the other premium FRFs. Liam Knight doesn't interest me as much as he does others. I don't want to start with 2 mid 30s plodders, so its looking like Haas might be a chance of forcing his way in.

The other consideration is that other captaincy options are generally HOK or 2RF - and there is so much mid ranger value in there at the moment, not sure I want to spend a slot on a Cook/Taumalolo when I could have Friend/DFifita in there for cheaper.

So I may go eitehr Haas, or take the punt on not having a genuine captaincy option and just roll with someone like Friend, Fifita, or even someone like Moses until I can upgrade to a proper captaincy.

ideally trials will turn up a viable front row for reasonable money (I'd love it if Trent Merrin could prove himself, amongst other options)

Yeah both will probably score around that 35 average. Flip of a coin as to who will score more game to game. Luai to make a bit more $$$ because he's cheaper.

I think Mann is more likely to be the bigger scorer.
Luai's big scores in the halves came with Tyrone May as his partner. He won't be as dominant with Cleary.

You do have to pay more for the privilege though

    https://www.newcastleherald.com.au/story/6609591/knights-why-coach-obrien-has-faith-in-mann-at-five-eighth/

While Mann has trained in the position for the entire pre-season without missing a session, his main five-eighth contenders, Phoenix Crossland and Mason Lino, have both battled fitness concerns.

Not sure if this was posted already but it looks like Mann will be the 5/8 to start the season. I can see a lot of people starting him in the halves with a gun beside him by round 1.

What's the story with Musgrove? How does he fit into the Tiger's line-up?

Anyone looking at Drinkwater? DPP is nice linking with AJ. Put a gun half with him and Luai in EMG. Should have better base stats including some kicking. Had big wraps on him a couple of years back.

I am not sure he has a starting spot guaranteed. They could go with Clifford.

If he starts (and looks like keeping it) then he's certainly an option.

He was in almost every team last pre-season before he got injured (pec?)

I see, guess in that kind of range you also have Mann and Doueihi (who may also get goal kicking).

What are the chances that if Scott gets banned for a lengthy period, that the raiders fill a centre role with either whitehead or bateman?? Other more obvious option is oldfield.

I was thinking Cotric. Pretty sure they see him as a center rather than wing long term.

Is anyone considering G Williams as their half or is Cleary/Moses just too good to go past. Would love some thoughts on him.

This article says the salary cap auditor has signed off on the momo-grant swap deal.

It also mentions that the clubs take on the contract of the player exactly as is for this season. So storm pay momo this year, tigers pay grant

Well Grant is locked in to nearly everyone’s teams.
