I was pointing out he was overhyped because he has higher ownership than the other expensive FBs bar Papenhuyzen (Teddy, Turbo, RTS, Ponga). Obviously ownership at this point is slightly misleading though

Negatives for him fantasy wise would be likely Origin spot and possibly unsettled spine with Drinkwater/Clifford. I reckon though Holmes could benefit Taumalolo average if he follows up on Taumalolo’s barnstorming runs

His high average in back end of 2018 come off 13 tries in 13 games, which after a year off you’d would likely imagine he wouldn’t be able to replicate

Not sure who was asking about Mann's tackle stats but all games from 2017-2019 are available to watch on NRL.com if anyone wants to watch "outlier" games to find out why a player scored so well

I watched some of the Tigers Knights game from round 19 last year. This was the week Mann had 34 fantasy points including 35 tackles and 3 misses.

Mann was incredibly active on kick chase, with Newcastle prefering to kick down to his corner and Mann leading the chase with some good contact, hit and stick and then working hard from marker. Had a lot of set where following a kick chase he would make 2-3 extra tackles chasing from marker which is fantastic from a football point of view. 1 on 1 defense looks a little shaking in terms of decision making, but he seems up for the contact. Based on what I saw from that game his tackle numbers look fairly sustainable

A couple of takeaways from my chat with Damien Cook. Dane Gagai will be on the right wing this year. There could be a smokey in the back row. Captain hasn’t been decided but it’ll be out of the three man leadership group. Reynolds and Walker the leading candidates

Maybe Keaon Koloamatangi or Bayley Sironen?

I've seen a few people rave about Keaon..

A cheap 60+ minute 2RF will make things simple. Keaon is listed as a FRF and would get dual if he started 2RF, juicy!

Siebold not really giving anything away other than confirming he thinks TPJ is best as an edge forward..

“We’ve got the luxury of three really quality backrowers in Tevita, David and Alex Glenn. Those three guys are fighting it out for two of those positions. They are really good ball carriers and they threaten the line. We’re just working hard with all three on their defence. Those three guys are each in really good shape. They’re working really hard. Tevita has got that flexibility that he’s played a heap of middle in the past. One thing I do know, is that we’re a much better team when Tevita is in it and firing. I do think his best position is an edge backrower but how aggressive he is and some of his actions on both sides of the footy, he’s a real big middle forward as well.”

    Some surprising ownership stats:
Starford Toa already at 18% - really hope he is a bolter, at worst an injury away
Mann just 4% - very surprising
    Lucy only 3%
Garner only 1% - nice POD Smile
    JMK only 2%
    Carrigan only 1%
Burns only 2% - huge if he fires as expected and guns it
Holmes 20% - much higher than I expected at that price point
Tino 18% - will be surprised if he gets the role that supports such high ownership

I'm going to be really pissed off if Fifita is on the bench round 1. Going to be even more pissed off if he starts and just gets 50 minutes or doesnt start round 2. The guy is on track to be in the conversation as an immortal, the other 2 are just good players. No idea why Siebold can't see that.

The last 2RF that was this good at that age was SBW, havent seen anyone else close to him since.

Also means Carrigan should be in line for big minutes if TPJ isnt getting them in the middle rotation.

lol! why won't NRL coaches do what fantasy nerds want them to?

SBW didn't even start consistently in the second row until his 4th year in the NRL in 2007

I don’t even think from a fantasy perspective it would be that bad. Instead of everyone being forced into a 680k backrower you’d get some diversity - some would shift up to a true gun 2RF and skimp somewhere else, others would find a mid-range cow and use the extra 150-300k to upgrade elsewhere. I’d probably go the latter tbh.
