wonder if glenn or fifita spend some time in the centers each game to fit in the forwards minutes and keep both their captain and best players on the field.

@White Lightning, JMK to play 80 in your opinion?

He's priced at 32 points & in games he played at f/b last year (9 games) his lowest score was 15 points & highest was 40 points. Doesn't sound very promising but maybe he will thrive more at Wests knowing he's 1st choice rather than just being a filler at Souths.
Douhi GK reality:
2019
Tigers 83 tries
Douhi kicks 62%
2 points a goal
24 games
= 4.3 points extra a game.
If there is a perfect storm of Douehi over achieving and the Tigers over achieving he may make some coin.

You'd think so with the only backup hooker being Katoa who is mud. But the coach is D. Pay so who knows what he'll do. I think the more pressing issue is that he's currently just starting his pre season after being injured so he could be underdone round 1 & Katoa could be on the bench if JMK is not fit enough to play big mins. If there is no back up on the bench round 1 he'll be in my team.

Do they no longer give points for penalty goals?
We did a study last preseason, and pretty sure even the weaker teams' goal kickers could expect 6-7 points.

I read somewhere that Holland will probably play bench utility like he did in 2018

To me the battle for my 2nd hlf spot is Doueihi (457k) vs K. Mann (350k). Considering Mann is 100k cheaper than Doueihi & there's probably only going to be a less than 10 point variance between their scores (Douehi with gk will score higher) then Mann seems the better value. Plus Mann plays the first bye & Doueihi doesn't.

That would have been an over sight from me - I'll crawl back into my hole and avoid trying to contribute.

Can you really see yourself keeping Mann for 12 rounds? I don't see byes coming into it for Mann, he's purely a cash cow, borderline at that, and should be traded after 6-8 weeks.

Hmmm. Yeah I'd be more worried about Holland on the bench than Katoa to be honest. Katoa on the bench could be good thing, would scare enough off, and JMK could work his way up to 80 over the first 2-3 weeks. Start of season still five weeks away.

TPJ with only 38 mins seems too low but who knows. The problem is just about all their forwards are capable of big mins which means someone is going to play less minutes than they want to.
Lodge and Haas will both be more effective playing 45 and 55 minutes.
Plus the entertainment value of everyone losing their minds on Haas-watch... like Taupau last season, amplified.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 4
As much as Fifita being benched would annoy me I don't think it will affect his fantasy output that much.
Majority of his points will be attacking stats and he is someone who will score 20 points in 5 mins then plod for an extra 10 points for the rest of the half.
The fresher he is the more involved he will be and the attacking stats could come rolling in.

But then you spend the next 20 minutes complaining "why did he come off so early" and the 20 after that "Seibold you kent put Fifita back on !!"

One of the reasons Mann is starting is Crossland and Lino bnoth coming back from injury isn't it?
I don't think his first grade spot is guaranteed. Those of us who start him will just want him to make his money as quick as possible so we can upgrade

Mann is the biggest trap in the game.
He has been around for many years now and never held down a starting spot, this year ain't going to be any different

The problem I have with 2fr's is that if the flow of the game is mainly down the other edge then your player's score will suffer. At least with middle forwards even though they play less mins they are always involved in the game.

When was the last time a successful team used an interchange on an outside back as a pre-meditated part of its game plan?
Tigers and Dragons have done it in the past, and I don't think its the sort of strategy other teams are looking to model.

He doesn't need to hang around. If he averaged 35 for 6 weeks he will make in excess of 100k and be an upgrade/downgrade/cash out

Do you think Papenhuyzen will thrive more at Melbourne now that he is first choice and not just filler?
Doueihi needs more than GK points to be a good fantasy buy, he'll need to increase his scoring in other areas too. Would be great if the move from bench role to starter gave him the confidence/whatever he needs to excel, but I am not sure my fantasy team will bank on it happening
