Uhg I’m having a complete logic meltdown

I have Burns CTR, Lomax WFB and Brimson HLF
Essentially I can swap Burns for Croft by moving Lomax to CTR and Brimson to WFB
Both the DPP players look better off in their new positions, and Croft probably outscore Burns.
So why does it irk me so much to do it?

Could I just be a great big Burns fanboy? Embarassed

Edit: although IIRC when rd 14 came around last year it didn't immediately come up with 4 trades available immediately. It's like they forgot about it and then had to code it mid week. Maybe it was meant to be round 15 last year but they fucked up and then had to change it on the run.
Yeah I remember that, and you had to use the first 2 before the second 2 were available. Does that make it more difficult to complete a final 17 with 8 trades over 2 rounds as you'll lose a round in between to generate a bit of cash?

Yeah probably. I was chasing hard over the origin period and made up a lot of ground. There was a lot of stalled cash cows like Havili, Dearden, Xerri etc people were banking on to make cash. I don't know about others, but I was bringing in players to make the cash I needed for my final 17 all the way up to origin 3.

I see what you mean, I like Lomax more in CTR then WFB but I like Brimson more in HLF with the lack of good value halves. Never had the pleasure of having Burns in my centres but I think it's better off saving the trade of all 3 and grabbing a keeper CTR.

It irks you for the same reason it would irk me. I'm not sold on Croft. Burns could potentially be a rd 12 playing season keeper at a big discount. He was in all my early drafts until I fell in love with my new forward pack. Croft will probably be a trade eventually.

Bateman was priced at 40 and averaged 60 in a position which is usually a shit fight with hardly any good options.

Williams is priced at 44 in a position where there are lots of options who regularly average over 50.

    It's hardly a comparison.

End result is the same. I was responding to someone who said that there is no point in considering Williams because there is already Luai and Mann. There is a bigger upside in signing up someone who evolves from cow to keeper, which is what I think Williams will do. All these comparisons with Tomkins or any other English back are straw man arguments.

    Just admit it.

I agree that if you can pick someone who goes from cow/mid to keeper it's the ideal scenario. I believe mattnz has built his entire team on that premise. The problem is, it's really hard to do. There's not that many that make the leap. Collectively we've had multiple failures like KEvans, LAM etc. The point the other poster was making, is that he's a wait and see and will not become out of reach. If he averages 55 the first two weeks he goes up 35k. No one will be tearing their team apart to get him in, especially because there are so many halves that might average 55, whereas Bateman was destined to be top two in his position of centre, well above all the other puss. Also, I never rule anyone in or out. Also I don't hate Englishman, l love them. That Welshy bloke's English right? He's a really cool pom. Welsh

No gun half or Friend is what is missing for mine.

I’ll be starting with a gun half.

Fair enough. I've had gun halves in and out of my side but I think having both Haas and Lolo will make up for it. JMK is likely to get enough mins to score in the high 40s, which is pretty handy to have. Also, Lolo plays round 12 and won't play Origin while many of the other guns will.

As for Friend, I reckon Verrills will steal enough mins to ruin him. His games in 2018 that were sub 70 mins weren't that good, and I doubt he gets more than 60 mins at best. Verrills is a gun and he'll get plenty of mins.

I’m still doing drafts without Friend too, they change regularly.

JMK is high on my maybe list too.

This forum is so divided re Friend, some are adamant gets 70 mins plus and others think he won’t get more than 60mins.

Yeah, I think it will be roughly 60/20 for Friend and Verrills, which ruins both of them as fantasy options (unless Friend gets injured again after a few games and Verrills starts playing 80). I reckon Api and JMK are both better picks than him, they're more likely to get good mins than he will and they both cost much less.
