What do people see in him that I'm missing?

After the games this weekend there will be a new flavour of the week.
My big concern with Drinkwater is his miss tackles and his negative points that will come with that. Will he get enough attacking stats to counter -8 or so each week.

I have no stats to backup his defense, just going off what i saw at the nines. Will he have Fifita running at him 1st round?

I remember a game last year where 5 tries went through drinkwater and i would say a strong defensive fb would have stopped 4 of them

    Edit this game
    https://youtu.be/5DYf6c2UrY8

The first three tries were pretty bad efforts from him. Almost Darius levels. Probably harsh on the 4th, Marsters probably scores from there 9 out of 10. The last one when Lawrence scores, a bit difficult too, but good defenders make a better effort there. Guess the game was gone then anyway

Tedesco is basically as far above the next WFB as Haas is over the next FRF.

I tried to fit him in, but I'd basically rather spend the money elsewhere

Our halves were chopped and changed so many times I'm having trouble remembering where they defended. JT was always left and Morgan right, but can't quite remember last year. We did have something like five games in a row with Wright and Opacic on the right edge where we didn't concede a single try, can't remember which half was there. For that reason, I think if we have to break that up to accommodate Marsters, I'd still like to see a place for Opacic at left centre. Not the most flashy centre, but we've got plenty of strike with Morgan, Drinkwater, Holmes, Marsters, even Feldt. Just want someone quick on that left wing, hopefully Hammer before too long. Clifford not out of the running. Just think that Drinkwater oozes talent and confidence (but not arrogance). Clifford's a bigger body, decent defender and established kicking game (arguably better than Morgan's) so who knows?

It does a little bit to me with MCK on the bench. Garner the 80 minute man, Lucy will see around 50 minutes whether that's the middle or edge or a combination. He will only see more minutes if in-game injury occurs.
Remember, in 2018 he played two games around origin time and then 3 games at end of season (starting 2nd Row)
Then in 2019, 1 game around origin and 3 games at end of season again.

Not sure that is a good gauge on his likely average over the whole of the season, with week in week out NRL footy.
Not if they carry Reynolds or Walters in the 14.

Then their 3 middles are gonna need a rest when their 3 forwards off the bench come on which could see Garner to lock possibly to spell whoever their starting 13 is.

If Luciano starts I’m confident he will get 60mins which is enough value for mine.

    Not much love for Mur-ray

Seeing him as a close alternative to ya boi Haas. Scores within 7 and it’s a masterstroke.

Brailey, Stimson, Koro, Keppie(will pick this spot on matchups)
    Luai, Mago, Muzgrove, Crichton

It just feels like you have too many middies because you have listed each line of your backs with the middies first, rather than guns first. So seems weak when in reality it’s just a complete and utter shambles and needs to be sorted correctly. Guns > Mids > Cows, or more specifically by price.

Apologies if that sounded abrupt, it’s hard to type on the phone whilst my eyes are twitching.

    Api
    Hass (C), Carrigan
    NBrown, DFifita, JWilliams
    Cleary (V), Mann
    Capewell, Lomax
    Ponga, Papy, Aekins

Drinkwater, Stimson, BBrailey, 1 of below

    Luai, Musgrove, Curran, Rudolf, Leleisiuao

    Hookers:

Api is good value and set for 80. BBrailey may only be set for 50 minutes to start season. Will pick up Grant if he comes to Tigers. Smith, Cook and McInnes can wait.

    Props:

Hass first picked, captain and 13 points better than next best prop. Carrigan with the lock spot beats out an unlucky Knight. Mofo and EseEse the only others to be considered seriously.

    Second Rowers:

David Fifita makes the side due to Lodge injury and locked in to start. Nathan Brown is undervalued and could hit mid 50s average. Finished year with average of 54 from last 7 games. Plays round 12 (if not injured).
Jack Williams beats out Hess and Leilua due to more nailed on starter and at lock. Stimson beats out Su'a because I think he plays 80. Should average around 40.

    Halves:

Cleary was second picked. KM boost due to being alongside Luai. Mann is at least 10 points underpriced and I have more faith in him to hit 35s than Luai.

    Centres:

Last picked was Capewell. If starting second rower should hit 40 average, provided he doesn't miss 12 tackles a game. Only needs to last 6 weeks and I can reassess. Lomax, fullback and GK and cheap. Not sure who else has that upside.
No centre cover but not sure I want another centre.

    Fullbacks

Ponga is undervalued, GK, and Knights should rip the Warriors to shreds in Round 1.
    Papy, 3rd picked. Must have.
Aekins, cheap fullback in an attacking side. Can break a tackle and will make money.
Drinkwater, cheap, playing at 6 and covers both Fullback and Half if Mann or Aekins or Luai turn to shit.

Picking big things from Musgrove and Rudolf this year.
Curran could also start edge second row for Warriors. With Afoa and Tevaga out to start year Ipap and Blair most likely be used in the middle.

Might just park Mr. Vowel in the 21 waiting for a start on the Titans wing.

Nice team and write up mate.

Weakest hooker set I’ve seen and interesting to see what it can get you! (Ponga, NBrown etc)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who arranges my team by price. Though when Best was in my team I was arranging it with Best on the left to hopefully get the Best out of my 2nd CTR

If he's actually named on an edge I think that causes a massive decrease in his output. Will get less touches of the ball than in the middle

I'd say he's also a notch below the premium captain choices and you would need a more reliable captain as his highest score without a try was 64 last year

What are you expecting out of Manu, are you expecting right side of Roosters' attack to be favoured? Otherwise he is priced basically at his average while Burns/Aubo are underpriced by a significant margin (assuming Aubo 2RF).

I'm of opinion that RCG is better as bench impact prop but TLT will reveal truth. Would say Knight/MoFo/Merrin are safer but Carrigan seems to be great shout if named lock with Lodge injured

I have gone off Mann. If the Knights get an injury in the backs Watson would cone off the bench into the halves and Mann could move to wing. Lino is also a threat to Mann. As MTB said I think as well can he really keep up 27 tackles a game? I doubt it. I wouldn’t have Mann and Luai both in my starting team.

I don’t like the Manu pick sorry I’m not feeling it.

I’d have Carrigan in there if I was you too.

Stimson isn’t favoured to get a starting spot at this point either so you may need to look elsewhere.

Also I’m not convinced re Su’a yet.

Apart from that l like it.

Anyways you are a pro and finished top 30 last season if I recall correctly so you would know more than I do I reckon!

Slatsy has already run out of trades for 2020.
