Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 8
Maybe it's the beers or just a bit of too much time on my hands but I've decided to take a bit more of a look at the end game and what my ideal 18 and thought I might share some of my findings on here. For those who don't like looking at numbers TL;DR at the end for you.
To cut long story slightly less longer I am basing my findings on having my final 18 come R18 with 2 trades in hand. This also works on having all of the cows milked by R15 for the second of the 4 trade rounds.
Based on this year's prices and targeting 20 trades through to R14 and to max trade through the R15-17 you would need to earn $268K from each cow. Taking Haas's earning from last season out of the equation (coz let's be frank can you see anyone doing THAT again this year?), if you picked the top 20 earning cash cows from last season their avg earning was $287K meaning you would have to take almost every one of the top earning cows to get in the best final team for the end of the year.
D'uh! But hear me out, of those top 20 cows most of the time they just won't fit into your team's dynamics. Would anyone have had all of To:o, Papy, Staggs, Bird & Garrick? Burr, Martin, Lawrie, Young, Whitbread & Uele? Cust was a top 10 earner and did any serious team have him?
Of course this does not factor in the possibility of trading in guns at their basement price after a few poor scores but even if that saves 500k it still works out to be about $240k earned per cow. Which is a fair stretch from the consensus $150k.
This all has me inspired to run my WAG's team as just going balls to the wall nothing but cows with only 1/2 guns, maybe not even being Haas. The lack of expectation of this seasons cows turned guns like Hass, Nikora, Bateman could make massive gains come the last 10 rounds over those who end up short on cash.
TL;DR Pick every one of the best cows if you have any hope of scoring 1000's regularly again this season.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 8
Finally I’ve managed to do a draft with the back row of Lucy, Fifita and Lolo that I wanted but it had to be with Luai/Burton at half.

Haas Carrigan
Luciano Taumalolo D. Fifita
Moses Luai/Burton
Aubusson/Burns Shibasaki
Aekins Pap Lomax
Koro Keppie Su’a/Stimson B. Brailey
Musgrove Magoulias Curran Walters/Williame/Grant
Very happy with that!
Would like Brimson though if I can figure it out if a cheapie becomes available at WFB or centre then I could get him back in!
Has 6 players under 249k as well.

If he’s partnered in the halves with Peachey well he will be doing all the kicking Taylor.
Don’t think he will be in my team though.
Yeah, can't find much else on TRob and an Achilles injury could be anything from no weeks to the Season. I didn't notice him do it and last I saw him he was kicking for goal from memory.

Stimson, Watkins and 172k ITB is a lot of money to be on the pine.

I hear ya, Watkins is there as CTR cover unless a TLT cheapie comes along that looks a better prospect. Do you think guys like stimson and watkins have a better chance of earning more $$$ than the likes of Koloa, Musgrove, Magoo etc? That is what I'm trying to do with this draft and bring in a bit of new thinking than the cookie cutters.SoylentGreen wrote:

TBH I had over 500k ITB before bringing in Mofo and Hess, but I thought that was definitely too much

If Stimson starts then he will be a decent earner of cash and should be on at least the bench of most squads.
Watkins imo will be a slow burner. He’s a defensive centre.
Musgrove seemed solid in the trial. With Packer out he probably gets a bump in minutes so should earn some cash.
BillyMagoo - depends on whether he starts or not. Will earn cash either way but probably see him for about a 30 min stint? If Graham is out round one then he will start = must have for a cow.
Kolomatagi will be interesting. Probably gets similar mins to BillyMagoo

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 8
For Watkins, he's out for any other prospect really come TLT but a slow burner that play R12 isn't so bad. I think it was Milchy who posted in the last thread about how quickly the cheap CTR/WFB's can become unattainable after 1 massive score ala Sivo jumping $75k after 2 poor scores and then a massive R3 score.trubluwanksta wrote:

I think in most cases a cheap bench forward will make the most points the week after an injury to a starter when they come into the team which can always be covered by any trade, rather than finding the spare $75k.
I didn't see Musgrove or Magoo in the trials but I did see Koloamatagi who I thought was impressive and deserving of a spot on the bench. As you say if Graham is out for a couple rounds and Billy starts that's tempting. Are all 3 likely to feature in week 2 of trials?

Make sure you bookmark this for reference after he scores 60 in Rd1 and everyone says they had him in his drafts. Agree with you though he did look fit and firey.trubluwanksta wrote:After the 9s and All Stars I’m feeling a big season for CHN.

I just made another one up mate with Burns instead of Shibasaki and Aubbo at centre. Then to do that put Williams in instead of Taumalolo and Brimson instead of Luai.robelgordo wrote:

When you think about it going with cheap centres may not be the best idea as who wants to be burning trades on centres?

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 8
Even if Wade Graham is fit for round 1 I’m sorry to say this to Sharks fans but I don’t think he will last too long, so for mine will only be a matter of time until someone gets more minutes, but just remember it may be Bukuya that starts if Wade Graham is injured and not Magoulias.trubluwanksta wrote:

Still I’m confident of having Magoulias somewhere in my 18-21 as I think we all will.
