What I was gonna ask is is it better to not have Williams or Hess in my side and pay the extra to start with Knight and move Carrigan back to the bench as he will have DPP FRF/2RF.....?

Currently have Carrigan starting with Haas and Hess/Williams on my interchange but they are just second rowers and no DPP.

Hess and Williams though could both make more money than Knight which makes the decision even harder!

I think both Knight and Carrigan are in for a big season, they may even turn into keepers. I'm not sure about Williams making that same leap

    Just being devils advocate.

Hess and Williams could make more than Knight but could also go the other way. Whatever your gut tells you just go with it. That's the only way

Neither picks are going to define your season.

Obviously injury could occur to any of them, at any time, but you cant plan for that.

Depends on your 18-21 and therefore who becomes your 18th man

If you have, say, Musgrove, then he is your coverage at frf, or would you rather be able to play one of the other nuffs instead.

Im more concernee with picking the 17 i think will score the best rather than having those 17 cover all positions. Will happily play someone from 18 to 21 for a week if needed.
Thanks mate that helps. Musgrove actually is my 18th man right now actually.

I just see more value in Hess or Williams who could both average 45ish than Knight who costs an extra 100k and may average say 47 and make 120k whereas Hess or Williams can make closer to that 175-200k Mark I reckon.

One note I like to make on Williams is he must have really impressed someone at the Sharks because Magoulias has been tipped as Gals predecessor for the last 2-3 years and he was leaped and bounded by Williams last year, so he must have something there.

Exactly. Can't pick that anyone will make more because we just don't know. You can obviously hope and hypothesise how someone will go but anything can happen.

I was keen on Knight initially but now I’m doubting whether he does get those 55mins. If he does he will average 50. But Wayne may only have plans to play him for 45mins.

Anyway at least we get a good look at him in the CS. I think he will only have around a 25min stint (coming back from a foot injury) and that might be it but at least we get a sample.

Sorry for another random question but I'm trying to avoid my team until TLT. In the interim I was wondering if there is any way to look back over my team from last year and see what I did on a week by week basis. Is this possible?

Do we reckon Hess plays 80mins or do we reckon Wright replaces him for the last 20mins?

If hess gets the starting right edge spot, his minutes really dont matter.

Hes a boom or bust, 20pts in one play kinda guy. If you think he is capable of the form he showed a couple of years ago, then agonising over minutes is irrelevant

I’m with C.S on his interest in Mikaele. He didn’t quite get the minutes last year as even his starting prop stints often didn’t get a second stint. The gamble is that you bank on him coming back again after his rest. If he does get 40 minutes he will go close to 40 points and be one of the most undervalued non-rookies in the game. I just can’t fit him in at the moment, which hurts considering he costs a pittance. Madge also loves to musical chairs with his forwards which is a worry, but for 384k the potential certainly balances the risks

Tohu Harris moving to the right edge. So right edge will line up Harris, Nikorima/CHT, Fusitua and Herbert

" as part of a revamped right edge with back-rower Tohu Harris and centre-turned-winger Patrick Herbert."

Also sounds like Herbert has the spot locked up.

Will need some time to think and review, currently at work. Last season applying this strategy with strong centres with upside got me onto Bateman as starting center.

You chose Bateman because it fit your looping strategy. Don't pat yourself on the back too much.

Looping? For this season? That's an expensive red dot lol

Yeah I reckon. I think that last spot will either be Jensen/Mago/Wright/Dunn.

In 2018, Hess started 19 games at 2RF and played 80 minutes in all but 4, where he played 74, 73, 46 and 57. The 46 and 57 minutes games were around Origin so possible minutes restriction there?

I think if Hess is playing 2RF he plays 80 if not very close to it.

We need to sticky Milch's post about second rowers.

Starting second rowers ALWAYS play big minutes
