The gamble is that you bank on him coming back again after his rest. If he does get 40 minutes he will go close to 40 points and be one of the most undervalued non-rookies in the game. I just can’t fit him in at the moment, which hurts considering he costs a pittance. Madge also loves to musical chairs with his forwards which is a worry, but for 384k the potential certainly balances the risks

That's twice I've heard someone say that. I don't think it's true. He started prop five times last year and had two stints each time according to MTB's interchange timeline. Just crappy minutes each stint.

There are quite a few mid-range 2RF options this season...

    Leilua
    Hess
    Williams
    Aubbs Love
    Carty jocolor
    Capewell
    Lowe
    Su'a
    Tapine
    Carrigan (once DPP is added)
    Knight (once DPP is added)

Just need to pick the right ones

Also sounds like Herbert has the spot locked up.

Remember that Newcastle made similar noises about Ponga's move to five-eighth being permanent. If its not working they'll send Fusitua back to the wing if they think it will help

Find it funny that the emoji makes it say Carty the joker

Stimson surely counts as well if he gets starting spot. Thoroughly tempted to do Lolo-less team and have no rookies in my starting 17 iincluding a few of these players

How many origin players do you guys have?

Depending on my iteration, I've got Haas, Fifita, Friend, (Hess??)

3 - the first 3 mentioned, probably regardless of which iteration of draft I end up with.

Which is less than last year as I started with Cook, Tedesco and Arrow who were a definite for Origin and as early season progressed Murray looked more and more obvious that he would be playing Origin

    Guilty!

The pre season analysis was sound, their performance on the park in reality were not.

I've just shoe horned Leilua and Hess into my Haas and Lolo side with 0k left. Requires two of my nprs to be 228k though. I do like it though.

Wow those are crappy minutes if true. Must have been doing 15 minute stints, which is pretty sub par for a prop. The one time he did get 45 minutes he got 59 points, albeit with 5 uncharacteristic TBs.

MOFO had similar minutes in 2018, albeit mostly off the bench (avg 28 in 31 mins) to Mikaele in 2019 (avg 26 in 30 mins).

Obviously the trick is trying to work out if Mikaele gets the minutes pump this year that he needs. His career trajectory should be on the up..

Looks like Mikaele has the starting spot locked down so that is one thing in his favour.

Lots of props get small stints, its just than other than during fantasy pre-season, nobody really cares.

Fair enough for interchange players getting one stint, but surely that is unders for a starting prop with two stints and a rest in between. Most coaches at least want a 20 minute stint from their starting props, so getting 30 minutes all up from two stints seems a bit average. If they are only doing 15 mins at the start and end of each game, they are resting for an hour in between!!

    768 starting props in 2019

168 times a starting prop played under 40 mins

38 times less than 30 mins

    *this isn't accounting for injuries.

It's also a very good strategy from a football perspective if you can juggle the interchanges. Webcke used to play 8-9 minute stints and be the most destructive player on the field between 97 and 2001. TPJ was also very effective the games he played 3 stints last year

Main thing to be wary of is Eisenhuth coming back into the team, potentially at lock with Aloiai into prop.

Or Mikaele just continuing to play lowish minutes. He wouldn't be the first prop people jumped on with expectations of bigger minutes that never materialised
