Great work! Question for you or anyone else on... Was thinking of starting Moses Brimson in the halves with the hopes of upgrading Brimson to Cleary/DCE or moving him down to the backs if he goes aright. What do think about this plan?

On the subject of banking trades early in the first 2 weeks the only reason I'm looking to trade someone out is if they get long term injured, suspended or simply aren't playing the role I wanted. Picking the role can be hard if you don't manage to watch the games. For example in Corey Parker's final season rather than his usual spot defending as the A defender or marker, he had drifted wider and was spending most of his time as the B or C defender. While his minutes stayed the same his tackles significantly reduced due to being away from the ruck(look for this to happen with James Graham this year)

Players that I've considered that role concerns me as possible trade out:

    DFifita - potential minutes concern

Drinkwater - chance his role becomes link man between Morgan and Holmes

Curran - starting second rower is gold, on the bench I don't want him

EDIT: Sometimes this doesn't always go to plan and you have someone gunning it while you don't want to trade out your players it's not a ship you can miss

Ahaha, you don’t like Aubbs and Burns partnership? Gets rid of the headaches of hoping your 350k centre comes good

In a perfect world there will be 2x base price centres I can run with and spend less than 500k on that waste land of a position

    Currently 601k on centres

My team looked like that a couple of weeks ago. Relies on 7-8 base priced players and playing 3-4 of them in your 17

Perfect plan, I had the initial plan with Drinkwater, and had Brimson in at WFB. Honestly Brimson is a gun in my head and should score great. There isn't anything wrong here. If you play him in the HLFs then you have to consider who you have at WFB and whether their price and value exceeds that of JMK, Croft, Flanagan, and Mann.

Playing conservative with trades in the early weeks is a bad strategy. Benches are now too short to hold injured or underperforming players and you need all 21 players to be firing to get ahead of everyone else. You can provide the arbitrary example of Twal last year if you like, but I can provide the example of Burns who was only supposed to be injured for two weeks in response.

In the first half of the season you need to be earning money, not points. Points invariably come with cash generating players, but it's the cash that lets you assemble your final 17 faster than everyone else and your final 17 is what gets you to the top, in my opinion
