A thousand apologies....big risk but genuine chance they can all get above the $400,000 mark, hard sell starting the season with a second row stacked with mid Rangers when so many consistent guns are available there....Random wrote:

Other than Zeb Taia, not sure there is anyone left who's price is a mystery
Joel Edwards should be ~$173k, but they stuffed with the discounts on Packer and Burgess so they might do so to him as well.
Jordan Rankin should be $134k if people are thinking about him.
My guess is Jack Littlejohn will be overpriced at $285k - but with Brooks suspended for round 1, He or Rankin should get a game first up to show their wares
Any other prices people want, and I will give my best guess, confident or otherwise

It's a possibility but I hope not. Just didn't think he was anywhere near as effective. There was some thought Ricky might have run him there to try and sort out his motor when he started the season in poor shape, but I'm not certain. I think we still get a lot of value from Sia when he plays in the middle (Hard running, leadership and lots of starch in defence) and I wouldn't be suprised if we see Papa and Whitehead starting after a few weeks, so he's my pick tbh.
The team looks to have been really disciplined this year actually, BJ looks like a different guy and as you said Boyd looks the goods. Will see how it translates on the field but as his minutes scaled last year I don't think his workrate dropped at all so that's a good sign. As Random said, guys exciting to watch (specially when he fires up and you see one huge mountain just charging at guys).
For anyone thinking that Papalli might spend time at prop this year, it sounds doubtful - Looks like a Sol, Papalli, Fenso, Whitehead rotation. I'd imagine minutes will be split pretty similar to how the Bronc's handle their 4 backrowers:

Lone Scout has said on Facebook that Taia will be cheaper than Daniel Mortimer.
But with Morts at an expensive $370k, that is not every helpful. I was hoping that Taia's price would be starting with a 2.

I watch a lot of SL & I've said what I think about Whitehead. At the start of the season I'd be more interested in Taia's price - apparently he's training as starting left 2RF for the Titans.
Of the others, I wouldn't take Joe Burgess unless absolutely bottom price. He's fast but I don't think he has the strength or defence to make it in the NRL. Tyrone McCarthy will tackle all day but I doubt he'll get into the Dragons 17. Masoe at the Dragons struggles to stay on the field for more than 8 minutes at a time even in SL.
Mickey Paea is an interesting one. He's a different player to the one who left the NRL - really solid workhouse forward - and if he gets 45-50 minutes could be a bargain at $280ish, but it's a tricky price and depends on the Knights' rotation.
The guy I'm really looking out for is Ben Garcia, who isn't even priced in the Panthers' NRL site preview. He's an undersized prop more than a second rower but runs hard as hell and reminds me of Jake Trbo. If he can get into the Panthers 17 I reckon he'll impress and be a decent cow from $130k.
Zeb was the guy I had pencilled in all offseason - then they go and sign bloody McQueen both on the left side - but sounds like Zeb has nudged ahead of McQueen anyway:

Also what are the chances of Cornish getting a run and Norman shifting to center?
Gordon, Radradra, Jennings, Norman, Gutherson would be solid.
Really sucks that Jennings is going to the eels. I was planning on getting Gutherson last year, but he started the year at some rediculous price, $300,000 or something like that. Still worth getting, but I'd say he'll be starting the year on the wing. Don't think they'll shift Takairangi, especially since the Eels have pretty solid depth in the back row with Scott, Watnough, Ma'u, Moeroa, Pauli, Edwards etc.

well $295000 is less than $370000 so there's a chance.
Zeb's Superleague stats were not as good as Whitehead's so I would have thought he'd be cheaper than Whitehead's $313k.
Perhaps fanhub have given Zeb less of a discount due to having previous NRL experience

Throwing up between Tyrone Roberts and James Maloney as my second choice Half. Need halfs around that price range and looking for dominant half in their particular team. What's your opinion on those two fellas?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
Was convinced they would have no option but to play him up front. I guess they give the young blokes a crack and see what happens and then if needs be move him later. He is definitely more value to them in the second row so good call.Floor Pie wrote:Archer wrote:

Titans pack? For how much their backs suck, their pack could actually be actually half decent?

Don't really understand how there's any love for Roberts - he played a huge chunk of games last year without Mullen, plus he will be a half playing in a team that will finish in the bottom 4. Maloney is leaving a team where he had to split kicks/playmaking with another dominant half, but Townsend/Ennis will steal a lot of the playmaking and kicking. For my money I think Pearce benefits more than Maloney with the pair splitting up. I like M'bye as a mid-ranger?
