SC can't give too many because no price changes yet so if they gave a wildcard everyone would basically go the same team.

Bigger squads also mean that its easier to carry someone who is injured/dropped/anti-vaxx

So I wonder if maybe Fantasy will follow suit with 5, or maybe bump it up 1 to 6.

Personally I think 4 to 6 would be a good number

Agree. Just checked my supercoach team and it needs very little change. Already have Grant and potential round 3 bolter Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow.
Only a couple of likely urgent trade outs in Fifita and Burns.

4-6 trades in Fantasy will be an appropriate number that will be fun to work out what to do with. Likely trade ins on my short-list include:
    Grant
    Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
    Tevaga
    Watson
    Twal
    Yeo
    Lucy
    Magoulias

David Fifita will miss the first few weeks after the season resumes & isn’t due out of his knee brace for a couple of weeks after undergoing a meniscus repair during the break. A return at 12 weeks post surgery (usual best case) = approx Round 6-7 (miss 3-4 games).

If we get enough trades to put out the fires I'll be grabbing Tevaga and Watson as cut priced guns

Fifita to Watson might be a very popular trade

Expect Fantasy to add a few extra trades to start Rd 3. The NRL Fantasy facebook page replied to 1 comment on their close down post (no posts since).

With Capewell on the bench (or starting with Kikau coming off the bench for impact), do we expect Yeo to keep getting 80 minutes at lock?

My expectation would be JFH would play some time at lock to find enough minutes for Capewell and Kikau, so Yeo gets a break during the game.

Capewell trained all pre-season on the right before his injury, and Kikau is on the left edge. From what I recall there was an article in pre-season that Yeo was moving to the middle permanently in 2020

Howdy folks! Haven't posted since 22 March, hope everyone is well! Can't wait for the footy/fantasy to return.

My two cents on the discussion. Four trades for round 3 gives the best balance (bringing forward those extra trades from round 12 which won't be needed). Any less will see a mass exodus with most people's teams needing multiple changes. Most teams should be able to manage with 4 trades. If you need more than 4 trades to field a team you either made too many poor or risky selections, or were very unlucky which happens sometimes. I personally will use all four with Fifita, Walters, Kennedy, Katoa all likely trades. I'd also like to trade Levi, Williams, Musgrove but they're my shit picks and if I need to play any of them for another week that's my problem.

The nature of the competition (ie we can all pick the same players) means it's already difficult to separate fantasy coaches, no origin/bye rounds makes it even more so. The game, therefore, needs to be kept as difficult as possible. The overall number of trades should be reduced also by a minimum of four (the extra trades for rounds 14 and 16 that won't be needed), possibly more if the season is significantly shortened. Also you should have four reserves that can fill in for a week or two, that plus four trades should be plenty. If you started with a non-starter for loop purposes, that's your problem.

Secondly, I agree with Kenty that it's absolutely appalling from the NRL if Nathan Cleary isn't suspended. Breaking the rules literally puts the whole game and all the players' livelihoods at risk. Also, I went Moses instead Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

    Peace. Very Happy

I went through the "predicted team lists" yesterday. Tevaga and Watson were the ones that stood out in my mind.

In that case would have jfh as big minute front row 60-80 minutes, Tamou 50 minutes, hard to see Yeo playing more than 60 minutes at lock.

Just for those on the Connor Watson train, article on NRL.com that duties will likely be shared with rookie Chris Randall as per the coach

I don't think you will need to trade Katoa out. Has a BE of -11 and worst case would get 35 minutes off the bench.

For purely selfish reasons, I hope we don't get more than 4 trades for Rd3, since I had the good luck of avoiding all of Stimson, Williams and Fifita (I got Arrow instead of Fifi)

Expecting starting lock and scoring similar to back end of last year. Once he moved to lock he averaged 62.75 in 67.3 minutes
