Rapana may play off the bench and spend some time as a forward https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/05/14/waiting-in-the-wings-but-bench-utility-option-looms-for-rapana/

If he got enough miniutes, could be an interesting buy

I think they trialled in in trial games or something several years ago and it was a massive flop but couldn't tell you how it changed the game.

Its definitely been trialled before. My memory is it was used in an All Star game, might have been in a few other places as well.

Yeah geez I have a strong memory it was tested for a longer time, but either way recall how much I disliked it. Is it locked in for the remainder of the season?

I read an article that mentioned an all star game, can't remember the year and it might have said Holden cup trials or dead rubbers or something like that.

Chad townsend has a small fracture in his thumb. https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/01/23/casualty-ward-all-the-latest-nrl-injury-news/

Might make Kennedy safe even if Moylan is back, he may go to the halves.

Sorry - thought he meant in an actual NRL game.

Well that's interesting. Another reason why look at my team again, I will not, until TLT.

And regarding the six again rule, I'd also heard it was only trialled before in an indigenois all star match.

You wont see the real effect of a major rule change until a month or two into regular use in an nrl season, maybe even longer.

A one off trial in an exhibition match is near pointless because the coaches aren't interested in training for it tactically.

    Travis Meyn from CM:

"Rookie Jamal Fogarty partnered halfback Ash Taylor in the halves, with regular five-eighth Tyrone Roberts shifting to fullback.

Roberts could be the Titans’ No. 1 option now that young gun AJ Brimson (fractured back) for at least another two months, allowing Phillip Sami to move back to the wing."

Also reporting that Hipgrave is training on left edge (Cartright reserves) so he must be recovered.

Could you just sell Croft to Grant (I assume you're buying him) and then potentially hold Watkins for a week (as he won't lose cash) to survey options. Or no you need replacement WFB/CTR

Grant is one of my other three trades (Knight to Flegler, Watkins to Grant, Musgrove to J Hop), otherwise I'd do that. By selling Croft, I'm short a half or WFB unless I play Luai, since I have two WFB I can pull to halves if I need to.

Well Luai won't have Cleary dominating KM for next 2 games, likely getting more points with Burton/Luai splitting KM

Flegler also probably goes back to bench if Lodge is fit to play

In the trial match I saw,  Burton was doing all the kicking when he was on with Luai, big boot too.

I think the Flegler and JHop trades are very short term moves, they won't score anywhere near what they were round 2

If hopoate is starting, Flegler will be on the bench, and not getting big minutes.

I read yesterday that Hipgrave had been cleared during the COVID period, and Ryan James was quoted as saying "He's been wow-ing everyone at training." No reports about houses down through.

    EDIT: it was NRL.com
    https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/04/15/round-3-predicted-teams-how-nrl-squads-shaping-up-for-may-28-restart/

Gold Coast have received a much-needed dose of good news with back-rower Keegan Hipgrave cleared to make a return when the NRL resumes at the end of the month.

Injured skipper Ryan James said Hipgrave, who had been sidelined at the start of the year after suffering three concussions in 2019, had been wowing the club at training recently.

“He came out after not doing any of the time trials and nearly beat Nathan Peats in all the fitness trials,” James said.

Hopoate will be playing right edge while pangai and fifita are out.

Flegler will go back to the bench when Lodge is back.

Dont think hopoate is worth a trade in. Fifita could only miss a week or two

I haven't heard much of fogarty. I thought Tannah Boyd was next in line
