First three rounds he didn’t score tries. If he scores tries he’ll get points. Like all wingers in this format.

Can see him being used as a cashout but bringing him in to start when he's averaging 14 is a call

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I don't like it. Now I may punt Parker for Merrit instead and keep Carney. Merrit on the up and looking good. I'd have more confidence playing him over Burt.

Anyone have any idea Parker's minutes from the bench?

The same Merritt that has already scored 19 tries this year for an average of 37 points? I don't see how anyone would be considering him as a trade in without a crystal ball

BE was a big factor for Merrit I guess, even though it doesn't matter at this point of the season. I dunno actually, just pulling shit out of the air.

Yeah but now is the time to be punty. Go hard or go home.

This time next week we're going to be looking at a bright future of empty stadiums, people coming out of retirement just to screw with our cashies, anti-vaxxers creating opportunities.

I'm bringing in Merritt this week, he's only scored 14 tries so far, not 19, and IIRC he was the top try scorer in 2006. Burt, on the other hand, looks a bit sus....

Yeah, I thought MS saying 19 was a bit high.

My mistake the quick count in excel was number of games not number of tries

I have owned Merritt since R3 because one of the few things I knew about 2006 was he scored a lot of tries.

He scores a lot, but it tends to be one at a time for 43pts. And when he misses, you get 8. Not sure I’d be grabbing him if I didn’t have him already, at least on face value. But I don’t know what the other options are if you need a WFB.

I should say the reason I don’t know about WFB options is I’m bringing in Hodges and Inglis so didn’t look any further Cool

lol. Surely you made those two up?

    Two nice acquisitions, though.

I was actually wondering about the POD comp. I also did this - brought in a guy with a name, but we both know he actually never existed. Do these guys who don't play but no one else has - do they have any impact on the POD comp?

Can't tell you much about Perenara but Setaimata Sa was a pretty handy utility and was around the Roosters for several years.

Ok here’s what I did for trades this GW

    OUTS (in decision order)

Michael Luck - In hindsight, should’ve moved on at R13/14 at the absolute latest, and held Tony Martin or Luke Douglas this long. But I guess anytime you can hold a guy with a season best of 41pts for 19 rounds you have to do it. Made a whopping 97k profit in that time.

Craig Stapleton - with a double round he might have survived another two weeks but not with a triple. His average = BE now, so makes sense to go. Unlike Luck, made some decent cash.

Matt Orford - also might have survived a double round but with Manly having a bye for the third game, he is cut. His random 100 means I’m leaving some cash behind, but points probably more important now.

Ben Kennedy - I had Guttenbeil in this slot... he’s been solid but is slightly below keeper level IMO. R20 bye too, so would’ve made sense to move on. but then I noticed how dire my team is in R22 - if I hold Kennedy I’m playing a cashout, basically. Not ideal but 2RF is the easiest position to have guns at least, and the extra 200k allowed me to upgrade a trade

    INS (in decision order)

    Justin Hodges - duh

Chris Lawrence - the only 246k player I remember having a decent career. Not someone I want to play.

Trent Barrett - I <3 Trent Barrett and watching him scoring tries for fun the Steelers at Win Stadium as a teenager is one of my all-time favourite footy things. I think the merger and him having to change his game to accomodate Mundine damaged his (still very good) career. Anyway, point is when ppl like Welshy were looking at Lockyer to bottom out I was also eyeballing Trent as a 2nd rate option. He scored a try R10, bye and not named in Origin R11... I’m set to bring him in for R12 for Orford, who was about max price and on his bye then. Then Greenfield gets injured and I end up holding Orford and changing my trade plans entirely. Worked out for the best as Trent scores a try but also disappeared (assumed injured). But now he’s back, and Thurston and Bird being injured means I was kinda stuck for a HLF. He could always score a try and only has two this season. If this works, he was 50k less than Orford. If it doesn’t his BE is only 11 so I can move him on after 3 games without losing money.

Greg Inglis - I originally had Luke Bailey here but changing Guttenbeil to Kennedy means I get Inglis instead. Even with him not playing R20, I think this is a better move.

Haha both cash outs. Sa is only 260k and plays all 3 games but will be NPR in 2 weeks for me. Perenara doesn't play at all but is a half so gives me the option to trade out one next round using the generous looping rules.
