Too much cash makes it difficult to make a decision

Do I want SJ, JTurbo, Moses, Munster, Tevaga or Taupau this week.

Regardless of who I get I have the same choice again next week for Hammer, or I can move out Crichton, run shit centres and get a McInnes/Smith/Bateman tier player

Too many decisions I'll agonise over so hope TLT clears some things up

Might be a goer for the run home

SJ is scoring well, but he's just not running and is sort of playing with the handbrake on. Relying on TAs for high scores (he did run ONCE last week, and scored). As an owner, it was also an annoyance how much play Chad was taking/butchering, including the long kicking. Maybe that will improve... SJ started playing both sides of the ruck when he went off and looking a lot more dangerous.

I have the exact same conundrum this week on who to buy. Not going to be an easy decision at all

Moses or Munster from that lot. A fully fit Twal would be up there with no Eisenhuth. Can you afford McInnes

At the moment I'm leaning towards SJ in this week and then playing the same game next week to decide who I want. Townsend being out probably confirms that decision

Twal is a good shout with DPP. Will consider him next week

I can afford McInnes, but it means running Asi/Farnworth in my centres the rest of the year. The question would become McInnes and Asi/Farnworth vs Moses/Munster and Crichton, which I think the second group wins since both will be in my 17

I prefer McInnes and Herbie. Crichton has to stop scoring at some point....maybe

I have Young and Havili so have though about this alot, I would think the strongest bench would be Starling Tapine Sutton Young/CHN if the backline go down push Bateman/Whitehead out

Anyone ever heard of Calcio Storico Fiorentino it's a mixture of league and boxing. It just like 20 guys punching on while the person with the ball has to run to the other end and throw the ball over the barrier. Like to see some nrl players give it a go

This is probably why you have brought it up, but the first episode of "Home Game" on Netflix is about Calcio Storico if anyone wants to see it in action.

I watched a bit of it while I was in Florence. It's absolute madness to watch and try to pick up the rules

    Just a couple of questions.

If put it as a straight question of Taupau @ 635K vs Thompson @ 546K, do I assume the overwhelming majority would go with Taupau as you basically know what you'll get with him? Doesn't seem likely Thompson goes close to matching him? Is it definitely worth spending that extra cash?

Aubbs - will he see reduced minutes when SBW is back? Is there any chance he keeps playing 80min until Chrichton returns?

I'd back Taupau for the ceiling. He is a 50+ average FRF over multiple season. Thompson looks closer to a 45-50 guy which is also a great option if you are short on cash.

Thompson probably better "value" for money but Taupau is still decent value with a higher ceiling

Thanks mate. Yeah, I think that's where I'm really second-guessing myself... just that they could be that similar.

But there's also the unknown with Thompson. It's certainly a possibility that he's just getting adjusted to the NRL and it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for him to be matching Taupau's scores from here on, but at the moment it's an unknown. I'd love even just another week to ponder but both prices are climbing, and Kerr's is not climbing at this rate, and he's who I'm upgrading.

I do agree with you regarding Taupau's ceiling, but I do also wonder if in three games so far we're yet to see Thompson's ceiling, and could it be very similar? Just not sure.

So just realised I can do

    Robson > McInnes
    Norman > SJ

    Decimates my bank though.

Looks like 2 significant upgrades to me. SJ looks 10 points better than Norman and McInnes looks 15 better than Robson

Can't decide if I should go for Moses + Tevaga or McInnes + Randall (all would have to be in the 17)

I don't get the point of the SBW signing at all. I know how great he used to be, but a 35-year-old who hasn't played league in years, was last seen as a publicity signing off the bench for a team full of journeymen at the bottom of Super League, and who won't have trained since March because Europe locked down. Honestly can't see him doing anything more than 15-minute impact shifts in the middle, if anything... the Roosters obviously want him for *something*, but can't see the sense in it.

Mate I’d got Taupau for sure.

SBW will be a while off yet. Aubbo looks pretty safe the next 3-4 weeks.

Careful not expecting SBW to come in and play like the 2013 version. I was told in no uncertain terms how wrong I was for being a doubter

I completely agree with you, it seems more like an off field/ambassador role. Being around training will certainly help the youngsters with professionalism and probably pay off long term, but don't think he will add much on the field this year
