or wait, was it JWH's cruciate this time? Might have torn his pec in 2015 too though? Fucking warrior- each injury only makes him stronger!

Speedball Deluxe wrote:Anyone think James Roberts is under valued? I mean he is very expensive for a centre, but considering he was playing for titans last year and will now be playing outside Ben Hunt you'd think his try scoring opportunities will increase dramatically. Am seriously considering him. Hmm.
I think hes the centre you want in your final 17, as you mention massive potential in a stronger team and with halves of Hunt and Milf i think he is just about a must have. Also Bennett should give him a attitude adjustment. It just depends if you can forgo the cheaper centre options and possibly a gun in another position to have him? At this stage im starting with him, dont think many will with all the cheap options being posted and he will be a set and forget and trade saved. I can really see him being there go to man. The fantasy game has changed a little over the years with centres, before it was just fill them with 2rf duals who tackle shitloads, these days with the additional attacking stats basically you want 2 James Roberts type players who can bust out that amazing score with just a few plays.

Moa played 4 games without JWH last year mate and his avg in those games was 36, only 2 points above his season avg of 34
JWH however in non injury affected games avg jumps to 49, if he can stay on the field this year then a decent option in the FR

Yeah, and that is exactly the plan. I am taking the risk that Moa will beat the average from your statistics, and rise in cash to become JWH when he returns.
Edit: I mean, obviously not the whole 100k difference, but you know what I mean.

I like the gut feel pick!
I'm currently trying to fit Whitehead into my squad because i think he will go boom even with the congestion in the Raiders backrow. He will be my gut pick

MOA, is cooked. Napa has gone past him and so will Evans this season.

Appreciate the stats though, I was actually surprised to hear the Moa was only 2 above average. I remember him playing with so much more intensity. I agree that Whitehead could be a real prospect. I had him in my team at times, but opted out for Rocho, who I consider to be too undervalued to pass up. Valued to score 35 points. Gunna go Boom!

I don't really see Evans as being anything but an impact player. Napa will undoubtedly be the future of the front row, but with JWH out I think both him and Moa will start. Moa also on his last year of contract.

Personally agree, not so much in the fact that he is done, but with the younger guys deserving of more game time
Can never argue with a gut pick though! The gut never lies! haha

Think Fifita will play 50 minutes still or could he push for 60 minutes a game with the Interchange rules?

TBH I haven't even looked at sliding Fifita in somewhere, but when you look at the Sharkies FR rotation there isn't much there in terms of guys who can handle the extra workload, Surely he is nailed on for the increase?

Just on gun halves, I'm pretty tempted to run with Ben Hunt and Shaun Johnson to start the season. No one in the league has the same potential to go big, and I don't expect either to heavily selected at the beginning of the year..

Haven't seen anyone yet chancing their arm with SJ, likely waiting to see how he goes after the lay off and whether he is tentative on his ankle after the injury
DCE has the potential to go big, especially without Foran where his avg goes above 60, a much safer option than risking it with SJ, most will have DCE so you don't want to fall behind if SJ misfires at the start of the season

Small write up on Fifita I have done. (Planning to do one on most forwards to help me look at options.)
Andrew Fifita (FRF - $543 000) – Expected Average: 60ppg, Expected Season Score: 1 380 points
Andrew Fifita comes in as the third most costly player in the game averaging a PPM of 1.2. He comes equipped with the best byes possible for an Origin player. (Meaning he will only miss 3 games this year.) He also has a history of injury risk, but if he stays on the field he will outscore almost every player week in, week out. Interesting to note, if he could get close to 60 minutes each game his average would be above 70 points per week average.

Current draft
feels like I'm a gun or 2 down and relying too much on potential value in the mid rangers Jturbo/Ah Mau etc
But I do like the balance

I agree, you are filling in your 128k nuffies with 172k Paul Carters hoping all your cashies will go up. But that 44k could make Tapine into Whitehead
I like the Woods pick, someone I hadn't considered, but sure to drink minutes if the other starting forward is Tim Grant caliber. I also like the Jturbo, think he has special curry down there at Brookvale and will be handed big minutes (and deservedly too!). Ah mau could well benefit from the loss of Merrin, If you think he will be the recipient of the extra space then there is nothing wrong with a 3rd "gunnish" FRF (reserves score just as importantly as anyone in the 13 afterall), but there might be better value for his price if he doesn't make that improvement.
I also think that if Holmes locks down that sharkies fullback spot, he will be a better option than Mann. But totally personal opinion.

Ah Mau avg 50 with Merrin playing in the last 5 rounds of the season, the 5 rounds prior without Merrin his avg was 48, he didn't score a try all season either, Whether Mary was blooding him for longer minutes towards the seasons end in preperation for Merrins departure or whether Ah Mau just picked his game up I don't know but I'm banking on Ah Mau holding his end of season scoring into this year
Went Mann because ATM he is more likely to be FB for the Dragons than Holmes is for the Sharks with Bird looming. Mann scored around 30 playing in the CTS for Melbourne so hoping with the extra RM and attacking points available running the ball back from FB will put him scoring in the high 30s

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 3
Chucked together a quick team. Pretty close to my previous team but wanted to see what it would take to fit in some more guns.
(Note a few NPR positions have players named twice because I couldn't be bothered upgrading it. Also have $155k spare.)
