Any idea if he was getting close to 60 minutes last year mate? Some half decent additions this year, surely you must be feeling good about lifting into the top 10,I hope Mullen stays fit for you pal, think Trent helps him get back to being that dangerous runner he was a few years back

Couldn't tell ya mate, wasn't looking at minutes for certain players, get too invested in the games.

As a Knights fan you learn not to get your hopes up early. We've got so much young talent coming through that if we can get them the right experience and keep their mind on the end game rather than just week to week I think we can turn it around.

Mullen needs to stay fit, if he goes down injured again it's time to move him on. However he's no longer the main half at Newcastle which is excellent for us. Trent will do amazing things for him, if they both fire we'll nearly have the best kicking game in the comp.

All evens up over the season which is why i don't really understand the Mannering captain debate, nothing wrong with a solid 60 every week, if you are sticking with the same captain week in week out and want that huge captain score, then you are also going to get the 35/40s during the season which can kill you as much as 80 catain score propels you victory

Agreed, like Captaining halves like SJ and JT for the entire season, it all evens out.  I think the argument but is that your very rare almost perfect Captain choices are a level above again.  By that I am thinking Smith and Farah ala 2014.  SO some MASSIVE scores in there but very rare they ever dipped below 60 either.
Exactly mate!

Smith for me to start the year! Merrin I'm hoping can change my mind haha love the guy
how much do people expect J.Nik to make in his 5 or 6 games ?
will it be enough to justify a trade once he disappears ?

Also, i think going with J.Nik, Taylor & Hastings could be a huge risk !!

Definitely.  Massive risk, or master stroke.  I'm too conservative to do it personally.  Will run with a gun and an established 2nd half, with 2 of the Cows on the bench.

I'm so tempted to just keep fucking around with the team but I think I have a really nice balance with my team at the moment. Obviously it will change before game day though

Oh they were auto done for me due to highest price at the time.

I would think Seggy as captain will be really solid.

I've got 6 players of my desired 17 in the squad so pretty happy with that from the start.

@ Honeysett. Nice team. I'd reserve Taylor over Auva'a. Also I still think you need Smith or Parker in there for a set & forget captaincy option. Last year DCE's low score was 24 & his high score was 90. I would hate to see you captain him on a bad day. Halfs are inconsistent & are not good regular captaincy options. You want a consistent captaincy option with a high ceiling.

I'd be captaining Seggy. Smith and Parker are too expensive for me and ruin the balance of the side.

3 year Fantasy player but first time poster here and would like some feedback on the team I've made for now. I'm finding this year a lot harder than previous years due to a lack in real stand-out bottom priced cheapies so would appreciate any advice.

HOK: Jake Friend, Josh Hodgson

FRF: Graham, Fifita (C), Welch, Alvaro

2RF: Cooper (VC), Whitehead, S Burgess, Edwards, Henry and Carter

HLF: DCE, Taylor, Hastings, Nikorima

CTR: Ferguson, Hurrell, Auva'a, Chee Kam

WFB: Gordon, Copley, Mansour, Mitchell, Gutherson

I originally picked Smith instead of Friend but it would only leave me with 3k to upgrade in case of an emergency so picking Friend frees up a bit more cash and he should go the 80. Hodgson I picked purely on a feeling and the hope he also plays the whole game. He averaged around 40 playing 50-60 minutes last year and if he gets those extra minutes I could see him averaging in the 50's but I'll wait for the team lists to confirm his spot. If there's a bench hooker I'll probably shift J Niko to HOK and get A Reynolds in.
Alvaro's a risky choice, his scores and PPM were definitely inflated by tries last year but if he does get a minutes increase I think he might have a few cash rises in him. I might replace him with either Brenton Lawrence, Masoe or Packer but their minutes they'll get are a mystery. Welch I just put there to fill a spot, maybe with the extra cash I'll put one of those 3 guys who might actually make money there.
Whitehead I picked mostly because he has a better bye schedule than Rochow and Tapine. I think if the Raiders play Papalii as an impact player off the bench and Whitehead starts he'll be great value but otherwise I'll go Rochow if he isn't.
My CTR/WFB's are as good as they'll get for the moment I think. My apologies for the long post, just wanted to explain some of my choices. Thanks in advance for any tips you might have

Welcome to the forum mate.

As for your team,

-Friend should be a quality scorer as he should play the 80 and with some of the other teams thrown around he appears a bit of a POD which is good. Not confident on Hodgson. Even if he gets the 80 minutes I don't see enough potential there to make it really worth your while and would rather spend the difference and get someone like Peats/Lichaa
-Solid front row options and you've go yourself an undisputed captain option there which is good. Like you said Alvaro is a risky choice but has potential. Like you said though there are cheaper options though so easy enough to switch around.
-Surgess, Cooper and Whitehead are all pretty common names being thrown around which is good and you have 3 solid bench options there. Nothing I would really change too much there. If you are wanting to get some cash though swapping Cooper out for De Belin is something to look at as both will hopefully see some more minutes and should pump out similar stats, or look at someone like Rochow, who you mentioned, who is much cheaper and could give you some decent cash for elsewhere.
-Stock standard halves combo. As others have said in the past going so light there can be an issue bu you've used that cash wisely with your big guns so it should even itself out.
-Fergo in the centres is a bit rare but with copley in the WFBs I guess it doesn't really matter. A very common backline with what others are putting up and should players fail you won't really drop off the pace too much which is good.

A few different PODs in the forward pack than others which can be good and bad but overall a pretty solid line up
