He has averaged 40+ when playing centre and more than 70 minutes every single season since his entrance in 2015. He is an expensive decision at 561K and is priced pretty much around his career average in the low 40’s but that’s it, you get what you pay for and he rarely ever misses a game. Moving to the warriors he could be freed up a little with their off the cusp style of play. Warriors score a tonne of tries around their edges so he would have an enormous amount of opportunities. Could be that guy you pay for, but stick him in and he will stay there all year and average over 40 for ya instead of wasting heaps of trades in that area.

I like the thinking. I'd rather spend on Aitken that someone like Kelly. That said, end of the day it would mean sacrificing 200k elsewhere, and I just cant do it. The cheapie guantlet it is!

Even Aitken lost 100k at the start of last season. Problem with that strategy is keeping a decent amount of cash on hand to snap up the bargains when they arrive and that's only if there aren't more pressing issues at hand.

I'd also like to see Fanhub separate wingers and fullbacks and halfbacks and five-eighths  if being closer to the real game is what they're after.

If thats what you want then you need to go play Supercoach

Going back to Fifita. If he is 100% fit, coach may be inclined to use him less minutes to keep him fit and take advantage of his explosiveness as opposed to using him long minutes. His match fitness has been poor for a while too. He was playing big minutes in the past because their forward stocks are thin. Regardless, 40-45 minutes a game is what I see him playing.

Could this make Riki a trap? Gets starting edge, TPJ plays middle, then it changes when Haas returns.

Can't recall the last Warriors center to average 40+. Could be a bit like Marsters scoring dropped significantly when he went to Cowboys, a team where their centers have never scored well.

There was an article I read that said he played huge minutes because he was by far the fittest in the club. Beat all the backs in all the running tests.

Ok. Looks like Fifita will be my first pick then. Might captain him too and look forward to his 60-65 minutes each week.

Do they really sign Fifita for more than a million dollars to play him 40 minutes a game?

What is Titans pack and bench make up??

    8. MoFo
    9. Rein
    10. JWal
    11. Proctor
    12. Fifita
    13. Tino
    14. Boyd (the non retired one)
    15. Ese'Ese
    16. Joliffe
    17. McIntyre/Whitbred/Fermor/Lisone/Stone

Proctor is 80 minutes and I can't see Fifita playing any less than 60.

As the most optimistic here on him, I dont expect that many minutes. 2016 Fifita averaged 55 minutes. A 45 minute average would be a significant bump in scoring from his 33 minute average last season, where he was a liability in defence due to lazy running back and a dodgy knee.

His lowest average in any season before 2020 was 51 minutes. Last year's unfit and injured version was the only one that had anywhere close to such low minutes.

    From Fox Sports

    BENJI’S BUNNIES GUARANTEE

Souths are looking at Benji as an ideal No.14.Source: News Corp Australia

New South Sydney recruit Benji Marshall has been guaranteed he’ll be in the Bunnies best 17 to start the season with the Rabbitohs to use the Kiwi champion as a utility on the interchange bench.

With the new adjustments to the rules - especially the six-again for being inside the 10m and a handover for an incorrect play-the-ball - the NRL is tipped to become a fraction of a second quicker once again.

The Bunnies believe Marshall could be the perfect no.14 and have got a spot available following the departure of Corey Allan to Canterbury-Bankstown.

With the acquisitions of Jai Arrow, Josh Mansour and Marshall over the off-season, South Sydney have genuine reason to believe they can go all the way this year.

David Fifita is guaranteed to play 80 mins

It shouldn’t affect whether you pick him or not because he was going to play 80 mins

Hey, even with my sarcasm, I'm with you mate. I always loved watching him play, and I had him each year until last year. I really hope he can somehow get back to his best. Fantastic footballer and if he did get back to decent form and 50 odd minutes, he's worth a look. He is the perfect player for fantasy. Balls to start with him though, depending on the bench. I'll watch the All Star game with interest though.

I didn't mind the Benji signing but not sure what I think of him at 14. I hope Wayne has worked on his defence.

Does anyone make anything of the ownership numbers

Cleary at 29% (4th most popular player) kinda makes me feel like you may just need to own him as defensive move

Ownership will obviously change closer to TLT

Interesting point. There were high ownership players I didn’t start with that ended up being decent pick ups (Lomax) but on the flipside I had a low ownership player do better than expected (Frizell)

I think anyone with 25%+ ownership will be in my team regardless, going with the pack will be my strategy this year
