Not injured at present, which  ~could~ indicate he is higher up the pecking order for a rnd 1 start on the wing. The only other players that are eligible, but not named, are Dearden, Isaako, Glenn and Turpin

Mead played in Super League last year. Less than 12 games but maybe they are taking that into consideration.

I thought Talau would be locked onto the wing with JLei and JRob holding the centres?

Most Tigers fans expect centres to be Leilua and Roberts. Which one do you think Talau will beat to a spot?

Talaui might not even be in first grade. Nofoaluma has one wing, and Kepoa may get the other.

Could be decent cheapies in the Dragons alongside Ramsey. It is just whether Jordan Periera keeps his spot on the wing. If he doesn't easily see one of the Feagai brothers in there potentially at CTR which make them a must grab.

James Roberts misses out- either through injury where he stubs his toe and shatters his femur, playing like a spud, or getting into a fistfight with local bar goers on a boozy night out

Admittedly, Leilua might miss out from Madge not tolerating a right centre who doesn’t know how to tackle or from king hitting an opposition player and shiving him in the neck in front of thousands of spectators

Fat thumb error - that was meant to be an upvote in recognition of absurdly specific and utterly plausible scenarios.

Looks like Burton might be favourite for vacant centre spot at Panthers.

Following quotes from Ivan Cleary post Naden suspension

"It won’t be Brent. We’ve just recently signed Paul Momirovski, and certainly he’s been signed to have an opportunity to play there,” he said.

“It’s only his second week at the club, we feel like he’s a good player who hasn’t found a clean run at a club."

We’ve got some other options within the squad. Matt Burton is one of those as well, he’s been doing some work at centre.

“Tyrone May... we’ve got a bunch of different options.”

Was about to say it sounds like he is saying Momo was signed to play centre and he hopes he gets a decent run for the Panthers cause he hasn't had a decent run anywhere else... Burton seems like more of an alternate option if Momo goes down by those comments.

Matt Burton will be small for an nrl ctr (88 kg) so I hope he has a good defense or else he'll be run over.

Those quotes do seem promising for Momo

Without goalkicking though, not sure if he has enough value to be better than Hoppa/Roberts/Bird

But knows how to sniff out a try and playing at Panthers should help, so definitely on the watchlist.

You know what looking at those quotes makes it seem like Momirovski is the favourite as well. The article makes it seem like Burton is the favourite. I've been fooled!

I definitely get a better team starting without a gun hooker...the problem is all the good cheap forwards are scarce now with CHN, Gilbert & now Blore out & that's what you need if you start with a gun hooker some good cheap forwards. Davey seems to be the only one with good job security that will play good minutes but you need 2-3 cheap forwards so who do you pick.

How my current squad is looking..

    HOK: J. Brailey
    MID: T. Fa'asuamaleaui, L. Ah Mau, C. Watson
    EDG: D. Fifita, J. Ford
    HLF: N. Cleary, D. Cherry-Evans
    CTR: Z. Lomax, J. Bird
    WFB: T. Trbojevic, C. Oates, C. Ramsey

    INT: W. Egan, J. Liddle, L. Lam, B. Murdoch-Masila

    EMG: D. Alvaro, S. Blore, T. Niu, A. Davey

Thinking when I find a CTR I am happy with I swap Lomax out for McCullough and drop BMM or Alvaro as I am not crazy confident on those guys, particularly Alvaro locking down a decent spot. Other concern is not great 3rd WFB (But who cares), and starting Ford I am not too keen on. Bloke had scores of 30 in 80 minutes.

Someone on a supercoach forum said he is injured 6-8 weeks with a wrist injury.

There's nothing on Tigers sites and nothing official, so I wouldn't bother rushing around making changes until anything is confirmed.

some poster on a sc forum who reckons he has a wrist injury out 6-8 weeks so a return rounds 3-4...he said the news will come out in the next couple of days. He's not revealing the source but he says trust him he knows.
