Surprising that is, Elliott did well at start of season and he's horrible on an edge if he gets moved there. Guess it's Waddell and RFM edge then?
Jackson has to be in the middle IMO he’s got no impact on an edge and is only getting slower, and honestly I think he’s overrated he was falling off tackles last year and was leaking points.
I’m struggling to insert the screenshot from my phone but he had the second most net points responsible for after 18 games out of forwards only behind the Carty party. Stats are at the very bottom of linked page

Good work mate, Not sure he makes much impact at lock either. Elliott the better option there IMO, because he cant handle an edge either

He needs about 50 minutes to be worth it

Seems like he's always going to be playing half busted for the rest of his career to boot.

His minutes weren't really down last season only 3 less from previous season and that includes a few low minutes efforts off the bench with the Titans seemingly using him less as he was going.
Fair amount of value in him in, if he gets 50-60 minutes in that pack and refinds his fantasy form

Bennett never seems to give his middles big minutes. Even Murray doesn't get as many as he would under other coaches.

Back to full training, upset his training a bit but expected to be good to go Round 1 as per physio.

Yes mate, Samboy's are still available, over here in WA anyway. They disappeared for close to a decade, then started appearing again in the Independant shops IGA/Farmer Jack's), but now Woolies sell them again also over the last couple of years.
That’s some real news right there! I’ll have to keep a lookout here in QLD, hoping for a revival of the Big Red tomato sauce flavour which will no doubt be nothing like I remember
Edit: just googled and it was actually called Atomic Tomato....msg may impact your medium term memory

There was a Big Red Tomato, but Smith's did them.
I haven't seen the plain Samboy's in forever. But BBQ and Salt & Vinegar are pretty much everywhere over here again. Atomic Tomato are a bit harder to find. And I've only found the one Local chain that sell Samboy's Chicken, which is Farmer Jack's.

More then likely because he played last weekend in the Indigenous v Maori game is why he's not named for this week.

Sounded like a really racist term, then realised I was thinking of Sambo. Still in this day and age, surprised they have named it something so close to an offensive name. Its like calling something fucky.standard-issue wrote:

I wouldn't be surprised to end up with Stimson in my team for the first time ever. With rumours that Jackson moves to the middle and RFM in doubt for round 1, he has more experience at 2RF than any of the other possibilities and was last season's round 1 starting edge, before getting injured in round 2, so could easily get the position. At $246k he doesn't even need to be scoring amazingly, but his average for starting edge > 50 minutes is 40.
At the same time the other low price potential picks for edge are looking slimmer all the time:
Blore - injured
Olakau'atu - missing entirely in trial squad and not on injured list, at one stage was being mentioned as potential starting edge
Gos - Averaged 21 in 47 minutes last season. His only score over 34 all year was a 2 try 52, as starting edge Would rather have Stimson, at least he has shown he can get a decent score for less money
Hola - Seems to be behind Hess in the trial team list.
Curran - Has appeared from nowhere to be named on the edge this week, but lots of competition for that spot, with Katoa still to come back as well.
A left field pick could be Tuki Simpkins who looked great in last weeks trial, scoring 68 including a try, one of the best on the field, while playing at lock. Would give them great versatility on the bench to have him there and could get some decent minutes if he steals some from Garner and plays some in the middle as well. Would love to see a TLT bench of Utoikamanu, Simpkins, Simkins and Mikaele. If so I would probably grab all 3 base priced guys that each have big games and significant upside potential this season.

Matt your convo with Welshy the other day convinced me and I grabbed Twal in R3 of the draft and strongly considering him for classic as well.
I can see him having a year similar to the start of last tbh.

Just wait for Blore to come back and ruin the theory, with Garner spending good mins at lock having trained there this pre-season. Even Simpkins could push for more minutes given he impressed at 13 in the trial.

I was all over him until he had a dodgy hammy in preseason. Looking at last season his minutes and base stats were relatively similar, it was just his attacking stats that were down. Assuming he actually gives a shit this season instead of phoning it in we should see the offloads and tbs return
