As those three have a combined 24 minutes of NRL experience, it seems a very unlikely scenario for Round 1.

Yeah me, one of those gut picks and I've got him in both draft teams so might as well go all in. Strikes me as a Bennet kinda player and looking forward to what he gets out of him (and into my fantasy scores).

Just wait for Blore to come back and ruin the theory, with Garner spending good mins at lock having trained there this pre-season. Even Simpkins could push for more minutes given he impressed at 13 in the trial.
I’ll happily eat my words if I’m wrong, but I don’t see Blore eating into Twal’s minutes at all. I think he’ll either sub off Garner in the last 15 or so, or just replace one of the lower minute middles (Tamou, Ofa).

Garner working at lock concerns me a little, but I don’t think it should impact Twal too much. If he does replace Twal at lock I can see Twal moving into the middle and having Blore come onto the edge (kinda the same as Blore coming on for one of the middles).

Something to watch for sure though.

Do the bulldogs fans have mail that Elliot won;t start, or do bulldogs fans just *want* Elliot not to start

As they've not been a fan of him for years.

Dogs round 1 team could be hard to judge value in, given how many players could be out injured/suspended. But I'd just love Stimson to get a run to get me back on the bandwagon

Well, if Jackson *is* playing lock, as per Barrett, it's hard to see Elliott starting ahead of him. The Kennel doesn't seem as down on Elliott as it used to be. He did have a better season last year.

Projections for Ofahengaue at Wests? Mightn't he play lock? If not there then starting prop with Tamou?

Would love to find this sauce re:Ellitot/Jackson. Guess we see when they run on for their trial on the weekend.

this was posted the other day on the bulldogs forum (seems to be a long time user who has some respect amongst posters, but 100% grain of salt stuff as is any forum post)

    "from what I’m hearing
    Ogden will start this year
Katoa will be on the wing
Lewis will not be near first grade ( baz throwing him in the centre’s ) as a extra number with the reserve graders .
    Jmk will be the hooker
Katoa was tipped to play a ball playing lock role off the bench ( one off the fittest at the club atm ) obviously that will change now after the jmk injury."

the same poster commented that elliot was battling for a spot on the edge, which lines up with Barretts comments yesterday.

i've seen a few other mentions in pre season that Katoa would get one of the wing spots. Add another cheapie to the "potentials" list

    So many Katoas.

A Bulldogs winger would have to be absolutely amazing to be worth buying, even at basement price.

Especially one with limited job security. Will have to be a very limited number of cows for me to take the plunge

Kyle Flanagan on the Talking League podcast said Jackson reminded him of Paul Gallen, "not a Taumalolo sort of lock", so that also suggests he's been training there.

    Pretty much.

To be fair, Oates had some cracking years. His kick returns used to start our sets off really well.

If Josh Hoffman had have been content to play on the wing I think he might have had a better/longer career. Instead he was determined to play a position he wasn't very good at, went searching for it at other clubs, and inevitably faded away.
