Well Milchy found a bunch of phantom points for Cleary in the trial stats, if that's a sign of things to come, you'll miss out on not owning him.

The phantom points are probably 2 turnover tackles (which don't yet appear in the nrl.com match centre)

So using my powers of analysis, I can see that he'll get 2 of them every week, for an extra 8 points on his average.

How can you not start and captain him.

    When is that talk from?

Brooks kicked over Doueihi when both were on the field yesterday. Doueihi didn't take over until Brooks was subbed off

Its annoying not knowing, as I definitely want Brooks if he does kick. He is a maybe without it.

Does anyone know how many minutes SST played on Saturday? I know trial minutes aren't necessarily an indication of anything, but just curious.

He's the right price and goal kicking makes him very tempting, but I still have nagging doubts over his minutes.

For an established player in an established role like SST, last season's stats are far more valuable than what the trial would provide.

Is the thinking not that he gets a slight bump in minutes though to go with GK?

Went from a ~45-minute average in 2018/19 to a ~55-minute average last year, so I guess the hope is another slight bump this year.

If he gets similar minutes to last season I don't think there's enough value there on GK alone.

Do you think it makes a big enough difference to the squad balance to be worth it?

I'm looking at Brooks instead of Cleary, allowing me to get Macca instead of Koala, and not having to play Averillo in my 17.

Not sure if there's enough of a gain there though.
I’m not sure but I’m reasonably happy with my team , no Teddy either - will die on my sword 🗡 I guess time will tell .

I've got Teddy. Would probably be punting on Crichton for captain though.

My read on SST is that he is a good player who will have some great games but at an awkward $674 I have a suspicion (based on pure speculation but also the quality mids on the bench) there isn't really much upside despite the goal kicking.

Last year saw a bump in mins over previous years and that could continue but it is just as likely to drop back a bit as the load gets spread through the forward rotation. I think if you are spending that much you are hoping for someone who makes the jump to keeper and I'm not really convinced.

but to answer the actual question no I don't have his minutes Very Happy

Edit: Too late with most of this info but it also occurred to me that his minutes went up after Radley got injured. Checked the stats and it seems there is a correlation....would be concerned about what happens after Radley comes back

I don't see why he'd get a significant minute increase.

Robinson always rotates his forwards, and makes sure his big name players don't get overworked. He is just as likely to get a 30 minute game as play close to 80.

That's the worry, and unfortunately I think the most likely scenario. Was just hoping he played bigger minutes in the trials similar to AFB, which may hint at things to come.

Will probably turn him into Tino and spread the money elsewhere.

Had SST, but it's probably right that he's not worth it. Downgraded him to an NPR (Watson into the starting side) and bring Cleary back in. Actually quite happy with this team for the time being.

    Macca
    Crichton, Tino, Watson
    Fifita, Davey
    Cleary, Lam
    Opacic, Roberts
    Teddy, Pappy, Tex

I love how the team is shaping up TLT could hurt, but that is the same for everyone. Why Opacic though you have Averillo and there are guys like Bird and Hopoate with higher averages at CTR. Opacics CTR average is like 3 higher than his price. Expecting a break out year?

We have nearly identical teams atm except I went cheaper than Tino in MID and have Isaako instead of Hoy

I've always been a bit of a fan of Opacic - feel like he's been used as a stopgap but should get a good run at CTR for the eels. I've had bird in and out of the team, but it's him or Hoy, and I'm dubious about the dragons full stop. Hoppa I just don't see the attraction. He had a purple patch for a couple of months in 2019, but last year was ordinary at best.

EDIT - also, Averillo is my halves backup.
