Anyone else considering swapping Tino for NAS?
In games last year that NAS got over 40 mins, he averaged 60, or 54 if you take his tries and line breaks away (in an average of 50.7 minutes over those 6 games).
Given that Grant and Finucane are both injured, I think NAS is very likely to get substantial minutes in the opening 5-6 rounds, and add to that the fact that he's a huge attacking threat unlike Welch, I think he could be a very handy early season POD

Wow! Haas and Thompson to come back in Rd 4 and 5 respectively. I can understand 1 but not both. That seems extremely brave /stupid to me. Good luck! The only one of your list I am missing is Turpin and I’m not playing either of Hetherington or Lodge.
Well what kind of guys have you got?

I upvoted. I have doubts with Lodge, SST and Isaako whilst all having some good upside. No doubts with Pappy however, so that's the clincher for >this guy

This time next week we will be waiting for those juicy updates. Or dry downdates.

Tino, Welch and Leota at present. It sure aint pretty in Mids, but all should be pretty safe (barring injury). It’s a bit of a wasteland in that price range (sub 500K). There were rumours of Faamausili starting at Saints but I don’t know anything about him. The reasons I avoided Lodge is surely he is benched when Haas returns (3 games). Hetherington seems a little safer but that will depend on how he plays in those first 4 games (massive suspension risk and not a great scorer). Yhe biggest concern for both is how do you replace them if they are injured, suspended, or benched?Rabbits21 wrote:

You watch the Storm more closely than I do, so you may be right. I would argue that with the new rules coaches are going to want their big motor guys to keep doing their big motor things, and their impact guys sticking to being impact guys. For Storm I would say Welch benefits while NAS remains impact. For Knights I would say Brailey and Watson working towards big minutes (not necessarily immediately) means bad news for Klemmer and Saifiti for example.
Opinions are like assholes, though. Everyone has one, pretty sure mine smells better than most

I don’t have Tino currently...... sell me, how is he gonna avg 52-53 to make him worthwhile rather than say avg 49 which makes him not worthwhile?

I’m not convinced on Tino or Leota.
Leota probs gets 45mins but not sure it’s enough as JFH, Yeo and Eisenhuth are big minute middles.
It just feels a bit too mid rangey to me that you have all those 3.
If Davey starts I could then punt one of Lodge or Hetho.

Even if guys like Davey, koloamatangi, Lodge, Ah Mau, Riki, BMM, and Croker get named in the 13 for RD1, I have no confidence that they'll keep their spot, which makes me keep on trying to find ways to push them into 14-21. Very hard though to have a very nice 13 though without some of those guys in there.

I just researched and 7 times last season when NAS played 43mins or more he scored an avg of 54.5 so a ppm beast. Is this sustainable though!?....
If Grant is back by round 3 or 4 does NAS go back to around 35-40mins?

That's fair enough, though that said, NAS was playing more minutes at the end of last year when Finucane was out (mid 50s instead of his usual 40ish), and he played very low minutes at the start of last year. Add that to the fact that he's much more of an attacking weapon than other mids at his price range, and I think he's worth a try. Worst case scenario he gets low minutes at his great PPM and I downgrade him to a missed cheapie after 3-4 weeks.

Finucane is the big out for NAS, not so much the Cheese. NAS was getting big minutes (50+) last year when Finucane was out, while both CS9 and Cheese were playing and getting their regular minutes.

Also I'm seriously considering Frizell as a sneaky POD on the edge.
Reasoning is that he got basically zero attacking stats last year and is now in a much better team, opening up the possibility of attacking stats.
Do we think he'll maintain his workrate from last year? If so then I see very little risk and decent upside for a POD pick

General reminder that tomorrow is the last day for joining leagues and guaranteeing your place in the fanatics leagues. There are a few members who have failed to join their leagues and will be replaced if not done so tomorrow. A reminder that all members are required to join both their fanatics league (L1, L2 etc) as well as the overall fanatic group (FOG). Failure will result in punting your ass, probably. Any questions, PM a mod.
@Mearcats told me to pass on that he promises to join his league tomorrow. He was fanging around Tenterfield doing doughnuts at the time !

Hope everyone is being good to the other half on the last weekend without NRL. Just got home from the pub and not even in trouble, big win
I just realised I've been in butter her up mode the last couple weeks, but it was sort of an auto pilot thing, my mind has gone about it without me making a point of it! Impressive!

Best angle here is for example, the times u grab KFC for dinner every couple of months tell her you won a KFC voucher through a weekly Nrl fantasy prize and she will think all that time spent is not so wasted...
Wheres the roller-coaster GIF @Mulvy ? I'm due here.
