It seems like Musgrove would be the favoured bench player?

The make up of their bench is a hard one to pick. Madge had always been a fan of Musgrove (apparently) but he has never really kicked on to be a decent player (from what i've seen/in my opinion). Seems like a bit of a plodder tbh.

Stefano and Mikaele are the ones with futures imo. Mikaele had a foot injury at the trial (was reported pre game he may not play or will play limited mins), so pretty hard to work out how they will fit.

Stefano could be a 20 min guy scoring 15-20 pts a week or he could work into a 35 min role...so hard to pick

The two games he played 80 and 70 mins, which you keep referring to, he played on edge.

Another shameless plug for Fantasy Fantasy

The Leagues are almost finalized and there have been a few changes, though they don't look like they will effect anyone too much

The most notable changes are Loomer in League 10 and Finch in League 13

It's a wait and see for me.
I don't understand why Lawrie isn't starting at 13, or Ford starting at 2RF at the Dragons.

Hopefully get some early points/cash generation over the first few weeks and go from there

    29k ITB

    Koroisau
    BSmith Lodge Watson
    Riki Host
    Cleary Croker
    Bird Roberts
    Tedesco Papenhuyzen Laurie

    McCullough
    Turpin
    Brailey
    Liddle

    Egan Niu Simonsson Averillo/Gosiewski

I spent about an hour last night juggling around with no gun edges and trying to fit Koro/Turps and maybe Egan/Hodgson on top of the 5 hookers I’ve already got. Don’t have your balls in the end.

Still keen to get Koro, might have to do something like Croker starting to make it happen tho.

I do know he had HUGE wraps at the Eels who were very disappointed to let him go, played NSW juniors and Tigers were very happy they signed him. Tipped for a big future and has a huge engine apparently.

On the plus side, their bench middles last season played off the interchange an average of:
    Kaufusi 24 minutes
Pap 45 minutes (in a heavily depleted Warriors pack that changed every week)

Hipgrave is primarily an edge and Smith is there to cover hooker and backline.

Someone is getting huge minutes, and the coach says it is Paulo.
Catching up on thread but not sure if mentioned but Niukore will be back in 17 next week after 1 game suspension

This is why I'm happy to wait. If Stefano is first middle off the bench in a big minute role, he will only be 20-30k more expensive

And bang, just got Koro in two moves, $0 ITB. A sign if there ever was one! Plus Croker is not my second half, so that’s a big plus

That's fair enough, but then it comes down to who you replace him with in your starting team.

Its great to consider more CTR options than just Bird/Roberts/Averillo. But what is the appeal of Herbet?

Priced at 26 with a career average of 25.7 at centre (which includes some goal kicking, actual average is about 24)
Last year his scores were 4, 10 and 36.
Then he got injured in a game where he was on track to hit as high as a score in the low 20s.

To me there is also just not alot of difference in it anyway, I can stick with Averillo there, but that's just a 40k difference and we are not sure of his role or return. Herbert's a gut feel, now in a team expected to have there best chance of firing. Someone like Roberts, we have seen what he can and can't do or deliver over a season, no strong appeal there over Herbert. If Herbert was 500k I wouldn't have him, but he is around the same as these sub 400k centres we are throwing around.

Probably wouldn't pick him up though if I don't start with him, not worth the trade to bring in a bench middle who will make cash slowly.

Its tempting to start with him purely because of his price, and there's that feeling that he has a big year even if he's a slow burn early on.
