I’m in a hard spot with only 2k spare. I can trade Lodge to Leniu but I also would need to play Uto in my starting mids with Angus out. I am short of being able to do L. Croker to Fui. I could go Host to Fui or LAM but I’m not convinced it’s worth it.

If Egan plays more mins at hooker as match fitness gets better couldn’t that mean it’s bad for LAM’a mins as Tevaga is still gonna play solid mins off the bench in the middle rather than some at hooker if Egan plays longer which is likely.

    Team with 2k spare is:

    Macca
    Lodge Angus Watson
    Fifita Riki
    Cleary Lam
    Avo Jet
    Teddy Pap Laurie

    Turpin J. Brailey Liddle Host
    L. Croker Uto Niu Simonsson

I did think about going L. Croker to Alvaro but then was concerned having 2 bench forwards that I’m bringing in this week may not be the best thing......

    Any advice or thoughts please?

Wait for the team lists and get the mid you think will make the most money while getting you a passable number of points in for Lodge. This is all we will talk about for the next three days so just follow the thread. Stop trying to guess what might happen with minutes.....you don’t know and neither does anyone else on here
Don’t trade a guy who is picked in a run on role for another guy who has an uncertain role because he got more points last week. If Croker gets dropped then by all means trade but don’t chase last week. Just remember it looks like fui got extra mins because of a HIA.

I'm in the same spot of having to play Stefano in my MID's.

I'd keep Host instead of buying another bench forward. I have Host too and while he's on the chopping block, he's about my only cover for EDG. Not worth the trade, you never know Host could kick on and buying another bench forward might only get you like 15 more points than Stefano for the week which isn't worth it.

Anyone interested in jackson 70+ minute lock. Made 46 tackles and reasonably priced at 559k plus dual. I'm thinking I'll take a punt on him for lodge

Role and minutes could change when Luke Thompson comes back.

Host to Fui/LAM is very sideways, as long as Host keeps starting place.

Lodge and Crichton for Alvaro/Leniu and Cleary seem sane?

dropping Crichton over 1 week out seems reactionary, he won't lose money and presumably you'll want him back in at some point, seems to me like throwing a trade away, though i suppose if there was any fantasy player you could argue throwing a trade away over, Cleary would be that player.

Seems sane to me, but I might be in the minority.

I started with both but in my award-winning* WAGs team I've ditched Crichton for Cleary. Angus will go great but got to get the right guns in the right order, and looks a huge mistake to start without Cleary. (you can say it's one week only... but it's all of last season too)

Loving the look of my WAGs team now more than my cookie-cutter firsts. Can go Croker to a decent cow prop like Leniu next week.

I think it's going to be Leniu for me, even though I can afford Ofa. Kid is a dynamo, and with Dogs/Broncs/Eagles in next 3 he is for sure getting some extra minutes and scoring a try.

It’s only one week sample but it’s looking like you own and captain Cleary and it’s probably 20-25pts a week on average more than captaining Crichton or whoever else. Looks like he’s still a 75 player and nobody will get within 10 at this stage.

Last year with Haas and McInnes scoring close to his output, you could get away without Cleary for awhile. But with those two out of the picture I don’t see alternatives.

Wouldn’t surprise to see Arrow get thrust straight into starting line-up this week. Big money acquisition and he’s class not to play close to 80.

Wonder if both he and Murray in the middle or means Murray back to that horrible edge experiment

Where’s that mad Rabbit when you need him to ask about his thoughts of the future captain of Australia playing edge.

I have a few options with Lodge and $270k in the bank.

    Trade Lodge -

I can bring anyone from Arrow down. Trading in Arrow would essentially blow my load. Not sure about LAM (Who I rate), Ofa, Papali'i, Alvaro, Leinu. So many options, but I am likely to make the wrong one. If one of them starts I will pull the trigger (highly unlikely.)

    Trade Lodge + Host

Host to Leniu changes nothing, but removes some potential deadweight. Lodge to someone else and really play the odds on the 5 or so options I can pick.

    Sit tight

Not an option as I dont have MID coverage. Otherwise I would be tempted to wait a week and assess everyone again.

    For Fun

    Hoy to Mitchell
    Lodge to LAM

Leaves me with 20k and a fine margin between trading Host for Leniu/Alvaro next week if needed.

Think it's too early and kneejerk to categorise Host as deadweight.

I like the "for fun" option best.

Don't know the full make up of your team but I'd probably just go lodge to leniu and pocket the 60k to go towards bringing in the likes of cook when be bottoms our or maybe Hass since he will be a pod and can't see many people having the cash to get him.

Cheers boys. Issue is having to play whoever comes in for Lodge as starting MID and I won’t have cover.

I suppose I have Lam, who could go if he doesn’t perform over next few weeks to increase my MID cover

I’ve got $170k to work with so a few decent options on the table
