The funny thing with Payten is for me personally and many other Warrior fans we were delighted with him taking a hard arse stance on the players last season. Toxic culture for years with players packing a sad because Aussie coach or player demanded more.

Jesus, just looked at mtvb's site and Cleary has gone under 60 once in the last 18 games and gone over 80 in nine of them.

Just been looking at Walkers stats in the NSWRL for the year.  One thing I noticed is no-one seems to have many kick metres.  Is this because the defence isn’t good enough to need much kicking?  Or some other reason?

For what it’s worth, Walker got 55 / 52 / 43 fantasy points according to NSWRL site in his 3 games this year.

Game 1 was the only game he played with Hutchison.  Walker kicked 11 times for 197metres.  Hutchison 3 times for 63m.  Some other dude, 1 kick for 31m.

Game 2, Walker kicked for 133m.  Others combined for 127m.

Game 3, Walker kicked for 278m. Others kicked for 159m.

And random stat.  Jake Simpkin in 4 games has 86, 99, 64 and 61.

With the Warriors it was the side where it was warranted, Taumalolo is one of the only shining lights at the Cowboys and not the man to go after with your first attack as a coach.

I don’t have a mid shortage. Lucky to have Watson, LAM, Tapine, Angus and Welch.

I can afford to go Welch to anyone $808K or less in one trade.

Should I bring in Papy? Moses? No one? I could wait and see on Ponga, Haas or LoLo.

    My team
    Brailey
    Watson LAM Tapine
    Fifita Riki
    Cleary Milf
    Opacic Bird
    Teddy Laurie Isaako

    Angus Welch Liddle Schuster
    Walker Croker Hampton Simonnson

6 again will be reducing kick meters. Teams often end up inside the 20m line rather than back at their own 40m, so the long kicking game is reduced.

He got caught to me trying to come in and give the big one, calling him out publicly was wrong, where's the calls for Hess to actually do something, anything? Morgan, Drinkwater?

I can see the logic in what Payten did.

By calling out Lolo publicly he's really putting the whole team on notice that if their superstar best player can be held accountable then so can everyone else. Calling out Drinkwater or Hess in the media isn't really going to get anyone talking, Taumalolo is going to make headlines.

It's just the Cowboys aren't prepared to knuckle down and work hard for Payten like the Warriors did last season.

Hold trade because I haven't banked one yet.

Both trade options are an improvement on my current squad, but are they big enough improvements to keep burning trades on.

I feel like I’m always telling people to hold trades and then putting in a disclaimer that I’m a trade stinge. I probably should take my own advice.

What app do people use for the scores? I've just deleted League Live after they've sold their soul to Sportsbet and it's literally fucking everywhere on the scores. Can't turn it off either, surely there needs to be some regulation at some point?

LAM will get what, 5-10 points more a week than Alvaro? Dunno if it’s worth trading in another bench mid.

Croker to SOS some merit, SOS looks likely to make another 150k from here.

Could be worth holding croker another week and see what other cows could pop up next week?

I use the NRL app, seems ok.

Sports gambling is out of control. Was at a mates place a few weekends ago and his 12 year old son and friend knew the odds of the Saturday games. Gambling problems going to get worse.

Is it really worth bringing LAM in now at his price?  How much more will he make and would you be happy to keep him?

For real. In ten years time we'll look at gambling ads and sponsorship the same way we look at cigarette sponsorship now, saying how the fuck? God knows where the replacement money is going to come from though.

Tbh I have become desensitised to it and usually tune it out but was watching a game on the weekend with my 8 year old and suddenly was very aware of how much gambling advertising there is as she started asking questions about what they meant (first time she has really watched a game with me)

So true. I find it hard to put a true value on a trade, and mostly have not been aggressive enough.

I assume you’ve already figured it out, but:

Your option 1. If SOS scores 10ppg more than Croker you’re $80k better off in 3 weeks. That’s about worst case. 15ppg more and your $100k better off in 3 weeks. On top of that Croker had played 47-49 minutes last two weeks and Cust looked much better than him in my view. Who knows what Des will do, but I’d be surprised if Croker is starting for much longer. I traded Croker out last and I can’t tell you the weight off my shoulders every time I look at my team. As I extravagantly use up your trades, this’d be my preferred option of the 3.

Your option 2: Depends what scores you think he’ll get, but I reckon even at 45 average the upside isn’t worth it. I’d rate this behind no trade unless you think he’s near 50ppg while AFB is out.

BTW, I’m just some pleb who doesn’t feel qualified to give you advice!!

I think maybe $50-100k. More importantly, I like his odds of going over 40 regularly more than Alvaro/Fui who I currently have to play.
not a keeper, but can't afford people who are.
Probably will just roll with the coin goats until I can turn Turpin/Milf/someone into a proper MID
