Players can even score higher than their BE and go down in price if the scoring is higher than expected

So if I want to gap between Haas and Riki to close more I would want a highscoring round because Haas scored a lot lower than his BE than Riki scored higher

It is harsh. Initial contact was shoulder which slid up and then he made contact with the head. Would've been happy with 1 week, two weeks minimum is overboard.

Nathan Cleary would need to average less than 46 for the rest of the year to not exceed last years average

The proportions should stay the same since when the magic number changes so does the break evens for everyone

Haas scored ~19 under his breakeven with Riki scoring ~4 points over his. If it was a higher scoring round and true breakevens for everyone moved 5 points Riki would be 1 point under his and Haas 24 under his. Price change for each point under break even stays pretty much in line with magic number so this won't change.

Basically the difference between them is locked in,while the dollar figures may change

The discussion about scoring and 1-on-1 tackling is interesting and reminds me a bit of debates about PPR scoring in NFL fantasy. Basically, whether or not you get a point for catching a pass, something that has a wide range of value to a REAL team in a game (ie. a short pass for negative yardage still gets you a point). Super flex is another example, where you can play two quarterbacks (not a thing in real NFL) but raises the value of quarterbacks in fantasy to be equal to their real life value

My only takeaway is that the value of the play to the team cannot be the strict measuring point for how many points should be given. The game really has to be mostly based around individual performance (and this will naturally overlap with value to the team in real life), but it is also a balancing act to make all positions interesting and valuable. CTR being a sad wasteland year after year is a reflection of fantasy scoring, not the NRL

Yeah it's all relative between players. I guess where high or low scoring rounds might have more of an effect is on the relative value of cash in the bank. And by extension, the value tied up in red dots whose price doesn't change.

On the big increase in scores over the last couple of years I've am convinced that they're trying to turn fantasy into supercoach to attract new players. I've always preferred fantasy because it was more difficult to play & you had to earn your points so you had to do your research which was the fun part for me. Previously cracking 900 was a great effort but now it seems 1050+ is the new 900.

This is a great point. I guess keeping the squad sizes at 21 still keeps it a little more competitive as I am sure a lot of people would have started with guys like Blore, Simpkin, Walker, Hola, etc... Knowing these blokes will find their way into a starting spot at some point this year.

Is no contest just accepting the full freight points so you don't have carryover?
