Kicking myself a bit. Looked like a great choice when I mentioned him and I was right!

Don't doubt he has plenty to learn, but at least he grew up with League and knows the rules and techniques. And as athletes and with the way they play nowadays anyone good enough to be a regular in the All Black back line could walk into a start for an NRL club. Doesn't mean they'll be as good at league as they are at rugby, but they'll still be good.

Pretty good start again, happy with the To'o trade even though there were some unsustainable stats making up the numbers (TS & TO)
I think it is more based on the role that the team he is going to see him playing, which would make it unlikely that he retains CTR.rectangle wrote:
If burton keeps playing CTR this year he'll like start as HLF / CTR, be in everyones team next year if that happens.

I think the only things that might be challenging are
1. Speed of the game, especially in defence
2. Pass / run selection. Union scrum halves never run lol

Obviously, being an All Black halfback, his passing is on the mark every time. His quality of service will depend on his ability to make the right decisions and summing up numbers quickly. Should come with time.
He is an awesome ball runner. I wont compare him to Cook but he has speed, quickness, is elusive and is very strong for his size. As a running hooker, other than Cook there wont be many better than him imo.
Defensively I think he will be sound. Like I said, hes tough. It will come down to conditioning and getting used to making 10 times more tackles.
Professionalism- unbiasedly, All Black athletes are just different. The culture, the attitude, the work ethic. He'll bring the same professionalism that SBW did, without the aura.
I don't know how long-term of an option he sees NRL to be, but if he gives it time, he's going to be awesome. Japanese rugby obviously would pay him a lot more, so could be an in and out situation.
How do others that know his game see it?

That's not correct, everyone knew Dohickey at the tigers was playing HLF and he started as a WFB only(from my memory).

There's no way they'll give Burton ctr/hlf to start 2022.
No one cared enough about douehi for it to matter.
