@Milchcow great work on organising the magic round trip, would have loved to join but our group of mates have decided to book a place near Sydney and watch all the games there rather than fly over have a great time!

there are so many factors that go into six again calls that they arent obvious to the casual fan. they arent all called for lying on the player for too long.

eg if it is a dominant tackle or the ref has called a surrender tackle they can hold them down for longer which to a casual would seem like they are holding for too long but its their right to do It in that scenario.

also 6 agains get called for offside or markers not square as well which I've heard a lot of confusion come from commentators as well when its called and the players are up straight away

Yep, sorry if the post was confusing. Based in Sydney, getting an airbnb somewhere near here as our mates weren't sure on flying over. Went there in 2019 and bloody loved it. Think it's smart they've made it Friday-Sunday and scrapped the Thursday game.

From an unbiased POV, is Suncorp the best place to watch rugby league? I generally think Sydney's stadiums are shit (Adelaide Oval was amazing for cricket, MCG awesome for AFL) but was just so impressed with Suncorp.

Just on the PJ Perenara talk no one has mentioned if he plays hooker in league he'll be expected to make 40+ tackles minimum & he's probably only ever made 5-10 tackles in a rugby game & in rugby the tackles are guys running at you from close quarters from a standing start whereas in league they are running at you from distance at full tilt. If people think he will succeed in league then you are living in dream world. At best all he be good at is coming off the bench playing 10-20 mins. There's 3 reason he won't succeed:

Suncorp and Bankwest are the top 2 for me. Only downside I saw with Suncorp is the rows of seats being so close together that one person standing up to go to the bar/toilet meant the entire row had to stand up. I imagine the atmosphere at Suncorp would be incredble for origin

Haven't been to a game at Bankwest yet, definitely need to do one this season.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but travel might have been part of the reason Matto's playing NSW Cup.

Next 6 games aren't the easiest for Turbo. Tigers (arvo), Panthers (arvo), Warriors (arvo @ Brooky), Broncs (night), Eels (arvo), Knights (arvo)

Where as Nofo has Eagles, Dragons, Titans, Knights, Warriors, Dragons. then plays R13 vs Panthers

Kid has a league background - he knows how to tackle.

Question will be, how fast will he be able to get up to speed?

Agree he's likely a 10-20 min player, but that'll be season 1. If he sticks around, expect him to be a starter by season 2.

in the same boat at the moment but with Hampton. Currently have hampton but can still make the move to Nofo.

I don't think it's completely mad. Definitely risk, in that he could easily score much lower than Turbo, but potential with the extra game and a run of tries to go so much better as well.

Everyone is buying To'o at 700k so surely last years To'o at nearly 200k less is worth a look?
