The risk of him picking up a HIA with this new would only be reduced by like 0.01% though. Not sure there are that many deliberate head highs that this would cause people to change and aside from that it doesn't cover all the causes of HIA anyway. Especially how frequently they occur from something like a head clash or misplacing the head in a tacklemattnz wrote:
Yes and the risk for Matto getting hit high could reduce too

Hmmm.....not sure I like that. Unless he plays 80, he's probably not worth it.
He will still be 50+ on 60 mins.

Possibly, but it's not a given.

I am taking the punt on Starling for a few reasons;
- he suits the speed of the game now more than Hodgson.
- a few comments suggesting they will be on the field at the same time
- I reckon Hodgson won’t be there in a month’s times

0.88ppm as a starting hooker during the regular season, small sample, but that's 53 points per 60 minutes.
I probably shouldn't, but opens up so many more possibilities than getting a gun in.

Yeah, that's true. Still weighing up between Matto and TPJ.

Yeah I think that press conference is positive for Starling's fantasy output... not sure I want to fk up my team to get him though

I am waiting one week to see Starlings role with Hodgson.
Might miss out on getting him cheaper but can’t afford another dud with the amount of trades I have burned through.
If he ends up been worth it this week, he will still be worth it next week too.
Or have I got that really wrong?

This is where I’m at. Would bet on him ending up a 700k hooker but can’t quite afford to do it without wrecking my side (more than it already is). I’m like 4K short of Roberts/Hampton to Gamble/Starling.

Sam Walker travelled to brisbane (put something on his instagram with the brisbane location). Looks like he's in. A positive in carnage round so far!

Source: Channel 9 via Andrew Johns via “someone at the pool”
Andrew Johns has shared a rumour doing the rounds in the eastern suburbs of Sydney that would flip the Roosters' Magic Round clash with the Cowboys on its head.
Speaking to Brad Fittler for Wide World of Sports' Freddy & Joey's Tips, Johns picked the Cowboys to beat the Roosters in what would be one of the upsets of the season, after hearing that gun teenage halfback Sam Walker was going to be rested.
"I heard a whisper with your gang, down at the pool at Bronte," Johns started, with a grin on his face, "you know the guys down at the pool who used to do the crosswords, that they're going to rest Sam Walker and it's going to be Lachlan Lam, Joseph Manu in the halves."
Replied Fittler: "There you go. They know."
Johns: "Oh yeah, they know a lot of things."
Despite that information, Fittler wasn't swayed to tip the upset, sticking with the Roosters to win it and adding that "Joseph Suaalii's a chance of playing."

As an already owner with rose coloured glasses I am reading into it that while they are both on the field at the same time Hodgson rushes into dummy half to give starling a break during his 80 minutes.sgdragons10 wrote:I’m backing myself and keeping starling. Just heard Rickys press conference saying he’d like to have them on the field at the same time, if he can give Tommy a break but even still that sounds like 60 odd mins to me

Hmm that's weird but could be true to be honest. Idk would Walker travel with the team if he was getting rested though?

The aim of the nrl will be to get players tackling around the waist or legs instead of standing up to tackle. Most of the recent shots that have got players in trouble have been where the tackler hasn't got too low and the ball player drops last second.Archer wrote:

I'm travelling to Brisbane without a mouthguard too. Warm&beers=IsGood.
I mean, he's like 9 years old. If you leave him alone in Sydney he'll just eat too many lollies and stay up late waiting to see boobies on SBS. Much better keep an eye on him with the playing group.

Brisbane weather absolutely perfect for magic round.
Pulled a sickie to go to the beach this morning. Great time of year for it. Fuck all people. Water is still nice. Dont get super cooked in the sun. Sufficiently rested up for tomorrow
