This is indeed a MID crisis isn't it. I'm playing fkn Leniu this round with Peachy, Crichton, and Welch all out.

Cool. How many are available at MID?
Will be handy to have all those extra WFBs when a mid or two get suspended.

Was just browsing some cheap options, why does Wiliame have 11% ownership? Can people still not get rid of him from last year?
(I assume it's mostly autofill teams...)

My theory was that even making $150k over the next 3 weeks was barely worth it if I had to trade him out again afterwards.
I am still not convinced it would have been a good long term move to bring him in this week - depends what happens to Munster and Papy and how soon they come back

Yeah agree, this was exactly my rationale.
I hear ya. But a lot are trading in keepers for rd13 with the rationale that if things go pear shaped, at least they have a keeper for the season. And this makes sense. But I kinda of feel like if you are going to be trading rd13 guys to rd17 guys during to byes to maximise numbers for those rounds, it makes sense to have a couple of non-keepers who stand to make cash play rd13 before trading to a rd17 player.
I usually run out of trades though , so it remains to be seen how sound my strategy is.

Sad news but I wouldn't mind seeing someone else give that spot a crack. Kaufusi is a good player but just one of those, gets his job done kind of guys. Can see S'ua or Capewell (Brimson centre) getting a run there instead.

I'm still thinking about trading Walker.
Here's how I see it;
Priced at $515k or equivalent to about a 42 average.
He looked capable of maintaining that average previously, but with the arrival of Lam his KM looks to have dropped from about a 190m average down to I'm guessing an 80m average? (two games so far for 83 and 38m). That's a 5 point down turn.
He's averaging 56 when the Roosters win (5 games), and 20 when they lose (3 games).
That's such a big differential that I think fixtures do potentially come into it as he does well when the Roosters dominate.
That's both as an eye-test as well as on the game stats.
So heading into the R17 bye he gets;
12 - Raiders - Should WIN, but probably not an "easy" game
14 - Titans - Should WIN, but probably not an "easy" game
15 - Panthers - Likely LOSE
16 - Storm - Likely LOSE
17 - Bulldogs - WIN - Cash in on those R17 points baby!
The problem is, he probably scores okay in 12 & 14 but his price will probably still tank to $460-480k, but then it's going to be difficult for him to gain points from attacking stats in 15 & 16, so price probably slips further by R17 - 450k? and presumably cash-in.
Is holding and probably losing $50-80k worth the time and effort to gain whatever he scores against the Bulldogs?

So given Hynes's scoring compared to his starting price. Is this a broken game that has to be changed? or am I just a salty non owner
Yes, there definitely need to be a change to prevent anyone but me owning players whose scoring consistently exceeds their price.
NRLF should consult that well know sage MS prior to the season (given his twin strategies of only buying players who will score well/score tries and/or never get injured) and price his selections accordingly. Following this they should consult me on my starting team and absent my players from any sort of pricing penalty.
I think we can all agree that this would make for a much more exciting and engaging game.

The more players they lose, the stronger QLD grow.

Damien Cooked wrote:@rectangle for sure, but at just over 500k he isnt the worst if you had to hold as an 18th 19th man.
However, hopefully he makes 100k (conservative) over the next 6 weeks and i can trade to a low hanging Haas after origin.
i mean the forum was getting moist over JDB at 600k just yesterday..
I mentioned him as an outside option yesterday.
The problem with it is, that this year isn't the same as last year.
Parra have a much better bench this year;
iPap means him/Lane end up being part of the middle rotation, Oregon Kaufusi has been building experience (& match time) and even Cartwright is adding value.
There's simply not as much need to run Brown for big minutes (which is what he has had when scoring well previously).
Then you look at the current climate for Suspensions (and Brown doesn't have a great history there) and he also has a fair history of picking up injuries.
At best he's a hope he grabs good points over the next 5-6 weeks then shuffle him off for a R17/end team keeper.
It seems unlikely that he'd be a hold for the rest of the year, and you'd be doing well to have a $5-600k 19th man.

Great, Knights will give up and Turbo will get another banner.
To think I even made him Captain in my POD team just to try and jinx him into a bad score.
I might just go bush on Sunday, save myself the grief

If you're good enough you're old enough. May as well get Walker in there too for Munster.

I know people like making fun of Matt every time he says anything. But surely people don't think he wants to play Tedesco at prop.
Currently nobody has any WFBs in their 14-17 at full strength. You can change your squad makeup to have 2-3 extra WFBs and still maintain coverage for other positions.
Come round 1 next year there is a close to 0% chance that the rules will be interpreted the same way that they are currently. But assuming there is still a big focus on head high contact and plenty of suspensions going round, then why not follow the MS rule and get players who are more likely to actually play games.
