The George Williams situation might have gone quiet for the time being in the national capital but there is still plenty going on behind the scenes.

Williams is currently holidaying on the Gold Coast - so much for being homesick - while the England halfback tries to resolve his contract termination with the Canberra Raiders.

Predictably, another NRL club has already fielded a call to gauge interest in adding Williams to its roster for next year.

Surprise, surprise, it’s a beachside club.

Where it could get slightly complicated will be the detail of Williams’ exit from Canberra.

Because the Green Machine has agreed to release him early there is expected to be a clause stipulating he can only be let go to join a Super League club overseas.

Ohh it gets tastier yet !

Anyone here know what Brodie Jones' JS is gonna be like in the near future? Thinking of trading Cini to him for my h2h team as a green dot and someone who will score well (when starting). Pls let me know, cheers.

    I'm gonna guess that's a Hooper article.

"Currently holidaying on the gold coast" therefore can't be homesick? Jesus Christ man, he's allowed to have a fucking holiday somewhere warm.
Sounds like just trying to make Williams look bad with the unnamed club gauging interest.

Grub of a human that mudguard.

Were you around when we used to do this on Sportal? We'd set up random teams including posters and someone would be assigned to "call" each game. Was a great laugh especially with some of the creative situations some of the writers came up with Laughing

I assume I'm the only one madly refreshing team lists praying my captain is definitely there given VC Alvaro isn't very appealing?

Looking forward to this one tonight - specifically seeing Tago and Lindsay Smith in first grade.
Smith is a big human being going well in NSW cup.

Challenge accepted - a small snippet from the archives:

"We’re 15 minutes in and its nil all here, with the Fantasy Fanatics feeding the scrum 10metres out from their own line right in front.

MTB feeds the ball and it’s Archer picking it up from the back and passing it on to Aardvark, the big winger taking a great hit up there making 15metres into the teeth of the defense. That’s Aardvark at his best, head-down and at it. It’s a slow play the ball though and the defense is well set. Honeysett carts it up for a 10 metre gain – nice safe play here. Good to see him involved. Rumours are he gave the coach a gobful during the week, so thought he may get dropped. More on that in the break. Another slow play the ball and another hit up with WT2K taking it off the ruck and passing on to White Lightning. Great to see the front rowers combining there, but that set defence has kept them pinned deep in their half.
Archer fires a bullet to Khany, someone who says little and let’s his play do the talking. He takes it forward 5 metres and plays it out the back to MTB and .. looks like he’s running it from deep in their half – exciting stuff and he sends a great long cut out past Robelgordo and on to to Queensland representative sensation Mulvy. And Mulvy is through – what a great run as he breaks a tackle and gets past half way, past the forty and he draws the fullback and gets it to Moanaman who charges for the corner. That’s a big dive for the corner as looks like he’s been bundled into touch a metre out. So disappointing, was really looking forward to the Moanaman try scoring dance.
But great play by the fanatics, You know, MTB has been kicking to the corners all year in safety first play, but he always seems to come alive around Origin time and starts to take some more risks – great play for him to run it and chance the cut out pass.
Oh wait a sec- looks like the bunker is getting involved. Yep, there we have it, Filth was run off the ball when he was trailing Mulvy. Looks like a sin bin coming here and penalty fanatics. Good decision that. No penalty try though - fair. Penalty back at the 40metre mark.

Milch seems to be directing traffic. Sounds like he’s yelling to go through the middle before going wide. Such a wise cow Braith. And WT2K takes another hit up - oh no, he’s clutching his shoulder, looks like an injury. Such bad luck for the big man. And that’s more work for their physio, Ponga the Mann – now that’s someone with their work cut out for him. He’s gone for sure.

Oh, looks like Welshy is making big changes. On comes MS for Archer – that’s a good move, Archer hasn’t been involved enough for mine and we all know how busy MS is. None busier. Also we have FarringtoneSwirl and Bludger replacing WT2K and White Lightning. That’s two big weapons to bring on at this point of the game. And they’re bringing easytiger on too. Good move – such a contributor – and their taking Marlin off – dunno what’s happened there. But easytiger was dropped to the bench this week – bit happening inf fanatics land apparently - he missed a few late night training sessions – he’s an early bird they say and not so good at night. . ,

    Brath – you’ve noticed something – what’s happened?
Yeah, during the break in play it looks like the ref called out Wolfie. He’s been running around in play all game with that water bottle yelling out instructions – don’t think he’s left the field. The ref has sent him off the field and given him a warning.

OK, and we’re ready to go again…"

No point trying to save a trade on a continual red dot / low scoring bench player. Not sure on Jones, but would be trading Simpkin out
