If I go ahead with my 4 trades I have a conundrum as to who to leave out this week, any suggestions?
Brailey
Haas Crichton TPJ
CHN Matto
Cleary Moses
Olam Burton
Teddy Hynes Walsh
Harris
ARey
SJ
Fog
Jones
Crichton
Simmo
Verrills
I guess it’s between Olam,Burton or SCrichton right? Who would you leave out?

I would take Tapau in the hand if I knew I could get Harris from the bush in R17

Mulvy wrote:Still weighing up my Averillo decision. After my first two trades, for rd17 I have Walsh, CHN, Simmo, Harris, SJ. My plan is to add five more between now and rd17. Verills is a gimme, I like Thompson and AFB. After that I'm a bit stuck. If a miracle cheap reliable good job security WFB who plays rd17 pops up between now and then I'd do that and use Simmo to turn into a gun WFB after origin rather than keeping him as my cover.
Failing that though, I need two more. SST maybe, dont love it. Lolo, not sure he's useful this year. Kapow? Given I've already got Haas, Crichton, Harris, TPJ, Peachey in a pinch and looking to get Thompson and AFB, I don't want another mid anyway. ARey? maybe but if things go the way I want them to he'll be 18th man, a position that Moses can fill without a trade.
There's no one I can see that will score me more rd17 points and improve my team every week he keeps his role than Averillo. He's expensive but the points will be worth it and it allows me to sell a peaked Burton after rd18. I think the risk is probably worth it. And if Lewis or Flannagan come back, hopefully it's at least after rd17 when I have his points and at over 700k will be swappable to pretty much any gun.
Or the other side of the argument: Is my logic wrong? Do I really need another 5 rd17 players if the trades just aren't there? I was hoping for 10 players, maybe 8 or 9 is enough?
IMO round 17 and 18(with resting) are the last chances to make big ground. I would personally be going as hard as possible and running home with 2-3 trades if I was in your position. Finding out the guys to actually bring in is the hard part

That's a good point. It's not like he'd be out of reach or anything come round 17. Gets rid of Leniu now and allows some breathing room with Laurie.

Big thanks to MS & ynot for their follow-up with some really good stats after I raised the shifting HLF-HKR dynamic yesty. These are the reasons I spend far more time on this forum than I should.

Yeah. I think I'll lock in Laurie and Watson to him and Harris. Said before but seems too easy.
Wouldn't over think it. Not often you get handed simple trades. Laurie and Watson are my outs and Harris my in. And I'll be getting Verills.

SJ probably needs to be added to that list of must haves.
Really interested in Talakai as well due to Graham’s history

What do you think about what I said before. Taupau instead of Harris for Leniu over Laurie. Probably not worth it hey? Worry about Leniu in 17 maybe.

Well put. And he's right Wolfy, if you can still get Harris by rd17, it does make a lot of sense.

Here I am worried about having to play Doorey for one week then realised I have been willingly been playing Kikau for the last 10

Good, that's my thoughts too, keep going hard to put myself in with a chance and if it goes tits up, at least I gave it a shot. Yep picking the right players is the key. I like Thompson for his average, AFB for his ceiling, Verills a handy cash out 20th man. I'll continue to ponder the rest. Thanks mate.

Always the chance that the last two rounds are big gainers for people with trades in hand, but its obviously no given and can't really be planned for.
It seems like most squads are quite strong at the moment, so chances of teams being able to field 17 even if there are rests/etc is probably better than previous years. Of course, still 10 rounds to go.

Thanks lads, it is tempting to fuck Leniu off for good now but still get an upgrade to Taupau. He's PODy as fuck but with 11 trades left, I'll have a look and see who my outs will be for Harris in 16 or 17. Probably Matto if he doesn't pull finger. If Laurie bombs again though it will suck but the added depth would be nice for now. I've gone this long without Harris without getting snowballed so a couple more weeks might be okay. Taupau been getting over 50 mins, which is what he needs. Playing for a new contract somewhere too.

Hmm...would be able to afford Thompson too if not Taupau.
