Who is Dominic Young filling in for? Or is the spot his?

Best is listed as R24 in the casualty ward and Lee indefinite. Anyone else likely to take the spot?

Great news for the Panthers with Nathan Cleary to avoid surgery for now after suffering a labrum tear (via @LaraPitt_). Will undergo strengthening rehab with a usual return to play range of 3-6 weeks. On return can be functional limitations/increased risk of recurrent instability

Hmmm. 4-6 is certainly the trickiest outcome in terms of whether to trade him or not.

Assuming Panthers take the conservative approach and he's out for 6 weeks then he's not back until Round 22... can't have 1.2 mil on the pine for that long

Panthers should be able to manage without him so don't see the rush. They need him fit for Finals push. They did beat Storm without Cleary + Api in R3

With 13 trades left, it is very tempting to trade him to Burton, hold the cash in the bank & trade him back in.

These plans rarely work out that way though.

For those who conserved trades, this is gold IMHO. Trade out, then back in again... should net a bunch of points, particularly seeing as you'll have a bunch more cash to pump into round 17, and then if he is out for longer, you win even bigger.

Use the cash bro - thats the key to the whole strategy. Just make sure you are planning far enough ahead that you can get him back when the time comes. Presumably your plans will involve a cash out and a couple trades post round 17 for example. If you plan those around getting Clearly back in in round 19-21, then in the meantime you can use the whole 1.2m in your present team.

Haven't enough trades to be playing games with Cleary so he's just become history's most expensive loopholing red dot.

For me the key would be to use the cash but wisely.

Keep some in the bank. Still target value players instead of the premium options because they pretty much all pale in comparison to Cleary.

I’m trading Cleary out and back in later. Have 15 trades and can use the $ to improve my team in R17. I just need a plan to ensure I can get him back.

Thinking of going Cleary to D.fifi and Matterson to Haas this week. Will bring them in R18 regardless, may as well save the trades now and bring in R17 players next week when I know they will be playing. Also makes things much clearer re: AFB, Lolo, Thompson, Jackson. Thank you for listening to my speech.

Thinking I will keep >400k ITB all the way until Cleary is back. Means I am holding 400k instead of 1.2m but I still benefit from the Cleary trade out.

EDIT: Nevermind, D.fifi plays 2 days after Origin so will skip him until R19.
