Just short of grabbing Milf and DCE 😂
Might be manageable if Moses misses this week

Strange season, that in the final round I’ll have 21 healthy players, with only chance of plays out are restings.

Yeah, been a workhorse since day 1, they need him firing for finals.

If you want players firing for the finals you don't rest them unless their injured. When you miss even 1 game the next game you play it's takes 10-20 mins getting back on track & a game can be lost in this period of time.

The Eels will lose their first play off game if they are going to rest over half their team in round 25.

Hasn’t Bellamy been pretty outspoken on this in the past, that mass resting players fucked him one year as he won’t do it again .

I was thinking about the same over the weekend. Vaguely recall it wasn't possible last year but remember a few years ago you could've not traded and still won by hundreds of points.

Having a quick play around and if you ran with this team and left it from day dot, you'd still be inside the top 20,000:

    Brailey
    Watson, Papali'i, Utoikamanu
    Fifita, Schuster
    Cleary, DCE (c)
    Manu, Averillo
    Garrick, Turbo, Rapana

Croker, Hughes, Hynes, Doueihi + 4x228k and you'd still have a bunch of cash left over.

That's not touching the team at all. First iteration I came up with. No doubt there's a better team than that that could be pushing much higher in the rankings.
Add in picking the right captain or at least selecting a different captain when DCE isn't playing then you'd be screaming up the ladder.

Fairly certain they ran out something close to a reserve team in the last round last year and still managed to win the premiership so wouldn't be too worried.

    EDIT:

    Storm team round 20, 2020:

    1. Papenhuyzen
    2. Sandor Earl (Vunivalu)
    3. Leutele (Olam
    4. Momirovski (B. Lee)
    5. Lumelume (Addo-Carr
    6. Jacks (Munster)
    7. Johns (Hughes)
    8. Kamikamica (Bromwich)
    9. B.Smith (C.Smith)
    10. Welch
    11. Eisenhuth (Kaufusi)
    12. Lewis (Bromwich)
    13. Booth (NAS)

    14. King
    15. Hynes
    16. Schonig
    17. Pene

Bolded players played the following week, first week of finals.

Last year was very different in regards to resting. 18 straight games with no byes meant that players didn't have a chance to rest up during the year. I'd expect pretty minimal resting this week for teams in contention

I think you may be surprised then.

I'm expecting to see significant players rested from:
    Storm (already indicated)
    Eels (already indicated)
    Rabbitohs (already indicated)
and possibly Panthers (Ivan indicated they have a plan - and it would be surprising if the plan is just to do what they do every week)

I'm not expecting much if any players rested from the Roosters (just too injured), the Knights (need to get momentum) or the Sea Eagles (not really Desies style)
Possibly a few from the Warriors too

I had a crack, just eyeballing and some very basic calcs to check cap compliance at R1,, and was about 2000pts short of the overall lead, which would be good for about ~12500k. That factored the VC auto sub (get iPap two weeks, no C 1 week) but did not factor EMG auto sub of the 4*228k players in various weeks where you’d play short (eg Walker, Blore, etc). Was about 130k inside the cap at R1. Also Cleary-less

    Brailey
    Watson iPap (vc) Koala
    Fifita Barnett
    DCE (c) Young
    Manu Rapana
    Garrick Turbo Gutho

    Croker Brooks Hynes iLiu

EDIT: I think the quick and dirty way to do would be extract R1 prices and total season points and pick a team based on pts per $. Wouldn’t be totally optimal for a number of scenarios but pretty accurate

No way anyone will be able to fit both in.

Was reading that Doueihi might be out for more than expected of 2022 as elective surgery isn't allowed currently in Sydney and Tigers told him to go to a specific surgeon in Sydney Shocked

Only need one. The biggest downside to not owning Cleary to start with wasn't missing out on 100 points, it was missing the DOUBLING of 100 points. Two guys averaging 50 will be worth a single Turbo if you already have Cleary.

With that said I'll be getting both because I'm terrible and need an excuse right off the bat.

I'll go Cleary. Turbo is having a season for the ages but he's unlikely to repeat that.

Under V'landys ball I guess anything's possible but monstrous kick metres and goals are more sustainable than 20+ tries.

Yeah I think teddy showed this year that paying premium price for a wfb to start the season isn't a good idea.
