You can expect to see a few changes to the game next season, most likely in the form of a few extra trades, but stay tuned this year for my end-of-season awards and an early look at some of the potential bargains for 2022.

I rather have a 23 man squad than a few extra trades

I've said it before, more trades just helps the weaker players. I'd rather it stay the same personally.

If it stays the same, I probably won't play next year. And I suspect there would be many others drop out, especially amongst casuals.

Spending trades every week just to field a 17 is not fun. The challenge should be in fielding the best 17 you can each week, not just fielding 17 players at all.

They'll be wanting to consolidate the higher number of teams this year, so they will want to cater to the casuals I think. Will probably get both more trades and bigger squad

More trades and bigger squads = more time on their site.

I know what I'd be doing if I was them.

To keep it as a challenge and differentiate the teams, just tighten the salary cap.

Manly asking NRL to reconsider their no fault stand down of Manase Fainu. This article makes it sound like the police have been pretty dodgy through this whole process.

I just went and checked my trades. 21 out of 34 trades were spent trading out players unavailable that week. Quite often, trades spend on just trying to improve your team's scoring were generally discouraged as "luxury" this year, which is not the sort of game I want to play.

Some of the guys traded out were only out short term, but with such a small squad size, you often don't have the luxury to hold players for short time periods.

I find that that just comes with the challenge of the game. I think a bad run of injuries and/or suspensions is something you'd just have to roll with and accept, no? Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't.

More often than not the player you traded in probably ended up injured themselves.

If they go to 23 man squads, they'll have to do something to nerf looping.

Looping with a six man emergency bench would be incredibly powerful

Not a comment on this particular incident...but the policy is seriously shite.

If Fainu does come back into the team, not sure how great the team harmony would be between him and Olakau’atu...

Surely a lot of people had avo and bird for a large portion of the year didn’t need to waste trades there?
