    TBF I jumped on Milf for both the roller coaster and laughs rather than the fantasy potential. It would have worked too if that pesky Kevvy hadn’t rumbled my scheme.
    I always reserve one spot for a flaky player and this year it was a choice between Milf and Latrell….half the fun was that Welshy got so cranky when I was spruiking their credentials

    I agree.
    It would be a different story if the other hookers were tearing it up, but generally they’ve been disappointing this year.

    Should be a good game @Papadontbleach , @Archer and @GreenMachine - good luck to your lads, if stars align we might play again next week haha.

    Have been busy with actual work and log in to see this. Thanks mate, hopefully we can win.

    I thankfully have 20 greens this week so I’m hoping to get inside the top 2000. I’ll probably play the duds and bench the guns of the week.

    Yeah I don't like more trades, keep the game difficult. I like the game how it is but I'd add one or two extra squad members if I was changing it, or if adding trades, one or two would do.

    If I was doing it, I think similar, I'd add 2 to squad but keep salary cap exactly same as it was this year (or maybe up to $10m on the dot)

    Feel like it was quite easy to fit in guns this year - started with Cleary, Teddy, Crichton (+ Macca, Papenhuyzen, SST who were around gun pricing of 650-700k)

    For the first time this season, I'm owning Tedesco!

    Adam D - Tedesco, 4K left in the bank. Done. Didn't do too flash this year, but it is what it is. Hindsight is everything eh.

    Thanks to everyone for all the chats/advice/tips over the year, will defo still keep posting here amongst the games.

    Goodluck for the round folks

    Interesting how much lower Angus' ownership is compared to before his suspension (can't remember exactly what it was). Sitting at 39% in top 1k is now a bit of a POD

    Also just looked at my R1 team, and it's hilarious that was my highest rank for the year

    Downhill since then lol!

    Also random point when clicking through the rounds. Pretty dumb the player pool auto updates with who you don't have (had minor freak out as I thought Cleary glitched out of my team Laughing ) but the prices only stay as what they are

    Leniu, Lam, O'Sullivan, Simonsson

    O'Sullivan worked out pretty well for me. Traded him in round 3 at 319k, got scores of 50, 48, 73 then benched him for his 19. Traded him out 2 weeks later for ~170k profit

    The girlfriend is very excited for this weekend of footy. I wish I could say it's because she loves footy, but it's actually because after this weekend fantasy is done for the year.

    Only 13 players this week, 14 if Avo suits up.

    Won't check my team at all this week. I'll assess the damage at the end of the round.

    I know I'll be saying bye bye to my top 500 ranking but just how far am I going to fall?

    I can video it maybe but I wouldn’t know how to upload it on here. I’ll just give you guys the heads up when it happens so you can watch on the Facebook live stream.

    Plot twist;
    Jax is actually a Roosters supporter who has just scored himself a free Roosters jersey. Chur bro

    Jumping Marlin wrote:One thing I’ve done last few years is to rate my trades at end of year.  This picks up things like selling Avo, Lodge etc too early.  Want I haven’t done previously is consider the trades I did not make.  The three obvious ones for me were:

    1: Skipping Walsh.  Logic was that Brown said he’d be in and out.  I also thought if he can’t make Broncos he mustn’t be that good.  That no way could Warriors not play RTS at fullback and they’d quickly learn.  And that as a young, small player he’d drop off quickly.  There were a few Warriors supporters saying he was a must have, but I didn’t listen.

    2: Skipping Hynes.  Logic was that he’d only play a few games before Papy returned and that he wouldn’t have enough time to bank $150k to make the trade worthwhile.  I didn’t see him play the first few games - when I finally did he was way better IRL player than I thought but by that time the ship had sailed.

    3: Skipping iPap.  Logic was he’d be back to bench when Matterson returned and wouldn’t keep it up.  Even though I knew he was playing well, I thought Arthur’s would return to what he intended at the start of the year.

    Common threads are:

    A) underestimating quality of their IRL game and forcing coaches hand;
    B) underestimating impact of rule changes on fullbacks.

    I like this sort of analysis. I think sometimes people need to be careful when they casually say a decision was unlucky, because it immediately closes the mind and removes an opportunity learn or grow as a fantasy coach.

    With Walsh I would add, not just Warriors supporters, but anyone like myself who'd seen him trial were keen on him, so watching preseason is important. With Hynes, he might have been a flash in the pan, but my thinking was even a few mediocre scores with his low BE would have seen him make 100k and give me bye round points, we got lucky with more than that. I missed Ipap for the same reasons as you. In the last couple of years I've been backing talent and form more which is why I picked Walsh and Hynes, and should have picked Ipap. I just couldn't get over the doubts on Ipap and by the time I realised he was the real deal he was too expensive.

    On 16 players, with a maybe over Papalii and Avo, so hopefully at least 1 of those 2 suits up. My highest rank was 157 in r23, currently 162 so hopefully not too far of a fall in the rankings but who knows what drama there could be in the final round. 10742 being my lowest rank in r2.
