I doubt Aitken is set and forget for the season. In his own words he is expecting to play both edge and center this season and will start on an edge in round 1. Would expect him to move when Tohu is back (expected rounds 4-6). If / when he moves to center, you have to immediately drop him before he loses too much value (11 points over-priced to start the season). Would also be the new Aubo, any backline injuries, he moves to the centers.

Thanks for the extra names @mattnz.
The Aitkin analysis / info is pretty damn useful as he's pricey and I may go a different direction.
On the 'Bad Boys for Life' front - I hope they are allowed into L51, be worth the laughs to see how many get suspended on a weekly basis.

There's an obvious list of players who will appear in the team lists of most 'serious' players (although I don't know what constitutes a "serious player").
Randall at Hooker for obvious cashcow coin
Cleary as set and forget (C)
Amone / Ilias or whoever gets the Bunnies or Dragons starting half spot.
Burton / Aitkin as set and forget Centres (although this option does take up some coin)
    S. Crichton everyone seems to agree has been given a sweet 3 instead of 4 at the beginning of his price, so with DPP offers perfect cover.

But, there seems to be a few options, especially for reserve positions with multiple options.
    Wing/Fullback - Coates ($330) / Dunster ($298) / Pereira ($327) / Savage ($350) / others ??
    Edge - Tago ($334) / Luki ($439) / Nanai ($350) / Martin ($499) / Graham ($461) / Capewell ($511) / RFM ($400) as middie options and then the big guns question - TPJ ($668) versus Curran ($675) or Matterson ($683)
Middles - J. Saf ($495) / Welch ($588) / Lolo ($620) / Paulo ($569) all offer upside, depending on how the new scoring impacts their run metres and off-loads, versus less from TBs.

I think the selections of these similarly priced middies will define Fantasy for 2022. Pick the right ones, go on a scoring spree and you'll have plenty of cash to upgrade to the uber-guns, miss them and you'll be spending too many trades trying to catch-up.
As for the Bludger, well I always manage to find the spuds, so check out my team when its up and avoid any I select.  afro

That's a good run down on where I think most "serious" players are probably at.

However, the bit "I think the selections of these similarly priced middies will define Fantasy for 2022" - it really won't.
Most serious players will have a team that's there or thereabouts. Trading will define how they do, the same way it does every year.

    To put it in context;
Last years overall winners (NRLFL Mighty SeaEagles) started without Cleary, instead opting for a Halves pairing of season-starting "flops" Jamal Fogarty and Lachlan Lam (and Croker as depth).
They didn't pick up Cleary until round 4.

You'd probably suggest that might be a bridge too far to come back from, but as history will say, it really wasn't.

    Fermor, Davey
    Cleary, Hastings

    Randall, Ilias, Mann, Howarth

    10k in the bank.

Mahoney is likely to have Rein taking minutes of him this season

    HAVILI TIME?!?!?????
Don’t think I can mate. Would depend on if we get a few injuries otherwise I do not think he gets many mins at all.

    Good point.
But my trading knowledge rules me out coming back from a "mistake" like that.

Havili is purely a depth signing.

    ....give the ball to Cody...

So should we be jumping on the Cody train?

Why I am high on Paulo if he gets the center position next to him. Wonder which side Arrow will be on.

Really tempted to start the season with him then. Will see what he looks like in trials. I always go by the numbers, but in this case I wouldn't be.

    First TLT of the year:

    Maori v Indigenous All Stars:

    Some interesting notes:
    - A chance to see Nicho Hynes paired with Trindall in the halves
    - Ryan James & Andrew Fifita starting props
    - Erin Clark's form at Hooker
    - David Fifita's training houses down form

Love getting the preview of Hynes / Trindall.

Would normally back Maori to win, but would love to see Trindall, James and Fifita kill it.

Not too sure how much to read into Aitken's comments, but paranoia is certainly creeping in there.

From the article, it sounds as though Taaffe has an ongoing role in the team as well. Where will he play once Latrell Sprewell is back at FB?
