(Lots of numbers but a good read)

Thanks for that JP. Some good takeaways in there. I know SC has different rules to fantasy, but I liked this takeaway:

Ultimately, Tim did well to buy attacking CTWs in sides winning games – whereas I bought players like Nofo and Talakai with lower ceilings in losing sides.

The idea of picking attacking players in good sides seems obvious, but sometimes it's hard to do when a cheapy (Cini anyone?) Has popped up. Will try and keep this in the back of my mind this year.

I think that is a bit too much depth to have a starting hooker in emergencies. Randall averages 50 as starting hooker > 60 minutes.

I was looking around for some POD options and I can't help but be tempted by Jordan Riki.

From all accounts, he will be on the right side running off Reynolds, he showed in the back half of last year that he has quite a lot of attacking upside, and the Broncos are playing the Dogs, Cowboys and Warriors in rounds 2-4, so he could have a seriously hot start there.

571k is a bit of an awkward price but I could see him getting up over 700k if he can have a couple big games in rounds 2-4, plus I'm considering getting him as a way of anti-PODing Burton (Dogs draw is wretched for the opening couple months, and my team has plenty of centres as it is).

Am I insane or is there some merit to this pick

If so, has the guy who set it up been given the boot for not knowing how to spell "Rogues"?

That sort of thing would never happen here at NRL Fantasy Fantiacs  Wink

I'm not actually sure tbh, haven't seen a public league get posted up but haven't been paying much attention to the group.

But if it helps, was on Sportal long before flying the Rogue banner Very Happy

Edit - Rogue Overall 2022 is the real one.

He's on my possible's list too.
Probably not enough upside to really be worth the risk, and I find Kevvy to be one of the more flighty coaches - so I probably won't go there, but suspect he could be a '22 caliber Gun.

I am hyped on Riki's future. Hesitant on him in fantasy. Capewell will be the locked in 80 min edge. Bit worried Riki gets around 65 on average with Robati playing some edge.

Mins arent EVERYTHING but its probably a tipping point in this case.

Riki is going to be awesome with reynolds and staggs either side of him tho

The key to success is jumping on the right players early.

Last year that means getting iPap, Walsh, Hynes early. Avoiding Starling, Cini and any other guys who had a big game early and faded.

Also ditching guys like Papenhuyzen who was out for a long time with what started out as a potentially short term injury.

A lot of this stuff requires a bit of gut feel/guess work as wait to long for confirmation and you've missed the boat.

Have done a huge amount of research and finally have a balanced team that I am happy with. It is posted in assistant coach.

I haven't seen too much chat on this forum about starting the season with Grant weirdly enough, would've thought that might have been a bigger talking point.

I've been playing around with some drafts with him in it and I think it's doable. In games where he has played 50-70 mins he averages 57 so just about breaks even worse case scenario. Best case he plays 80 where he averages 62 which makes him 5pts underpriced, possible given Finucane leaving. I think he's a no brainer if he was playing week 1 so I may just bite the bullet.

I've had him in most of my drafts so far, the only time he wasn't was when I was looking at picking Munster as a POD.

The biggest issue is with Grant and Smith both suspended round 1, its taking a gamble on how they 2 will be used.

Sure it seems likely that Grant will get a good role this year - but are you willing to bet $700k of your round 1 salary cap on getting the result you want?
