If I was gonna do that I was thinking of ARey instead of Lichaa. Is it spooky that Lichaa and AREy are both 447k?

I wouldn't advocate the above, 95% of teams competing at the end will be running CS9 and another GUN hooker, if Jniko bombs its going to be tough to get him out of that hooker spot with a decent upgrade

At least in the halfs where there are 2 extra spots it gives you extra lee-way to manouvre if the shit hits the fan

Agree. I wasn't seriously contemplating it. Seems to me you have the exact same three cheapies one more gun half but one less gun hooker, which is probably worse for the reasons you've given

@Welshy - just how confident are you about Merrin this year? Do you see him moving up into the Gallen/Parker category?

    This.

Also, if Smith (or whoever you run with as starting hooker), goes down injured for a couple of weeks, you wouldn't bother trading him out, which would mean running Niko as starting hooker..
Personally I wouldn't be comfortable in doing this..

Further to that, at least the Parcell option means you get another cheapie with money to spend elsewhere, but that has its own risks I guess

Exactly mate, even if Hastings bombs you have 2 other shots with Taylor/J Niko/Feeney and more room to slip out of the mess

Getting ahead of the game you will need to pick the correct half cheapies from Taylor/J Niko/Feeney/TMM, if any 2 of those start pumping out 40's you are set

luckily half is one of the easiest places for rookie halfs to start producing decent scores

Smith, Lichaa, Bromwich, Woods, Surgess, Merrin, DCE

Are these names big enough to start the season with? I've tried chopping and changing over and over again, but this is the best combination I've managed to conjure up with a team that I'm actually content with (until TLT at least).

More of a hunch mate but I just feel it in my loins, can't see him playing 80 but I think 60-65 minutes and an average of around 58-60

I can see Gall and Parker both dipping to around the same mark

More potential in the first pair for me

Papalii doesn't score nearly as well  in the 2RF as he does a prop, his last 5 round scores were 24,28,28,38,37 all playing 80 minutes

most of his big scores boosted with tries

I agree. Papa is a gun at 2rf, just not so much fantasy wise. I was away this weekend so missed the trials but according the GH, Papa was getting a heap of offloads away to Croker. I still wouldn't be picking him up personally (and if anything that makes me consider Croker more rather than Papa) but thought that might be relevant to others.

Speaking of the trials, anyone stand out in them or the WCC? Are there any still available to watch?

Parcell is a risk for the same reason i think mate, won't make enough cash for an easy upgrade

last year i figured Lichaa was a decent risk for the same reason and he was priced @ $241,000 and he was gauranteed the hooking spot and around 60 minutes, Parcell has no where near that security

Tough to fully judge judge without seeing whole squad mate but cracking start

I have 6 of those, I don't have JBrom, I have gone LAM in the hope he continues end of season form (avg 50) in place of Brom/Graham then used the extra $ on Aubbs to shore up the CTR affraid

    shoot me now.

Interested to know how many cheapies below 150k people have in their r squad of 25?
I currently have 10...and probably few that want be playing come round 1.

Yeah I was just thinking if I go with Whitehead I've got 67k left and I've been looking at how to spend it but honestly I think I'm happy until TLT. And like you say, I was thinking not whether or not I should run three cheapie halves, but which cheapie halves Smile

Sure it's risky but my point is you end up with an extra cheapie (4) instead of the same three cheapies.

I have LAM in my 2rf but my centres are dirt cheap, don't want to invest any money there early on.

I have no dpp in my FRF which is a real worry for me, but there is so much better value there then there is in the second row. Pretty tough start to the fantasy season this
