Mate was at Panthers training this arvo and sent me this
Carty played on the right the whole time
Peach and Yeo spent time in the left 2rf spot
    ET was at lock
    Merrin was at prop
Moylan didn't train, with Ronnie all day
Hiku and DWZ shared time at the back
TMM played the whole time next to carty on the right

That's the Fifita twins running the show in the background yeah? Surprised this hasn't been hyped up in the media yet - maybe it's their dopplegangers.

If Hastings, TMM, Taylor and Nikorima are all named round 1 who do you take?

Should be fine lad, had 9 games called off already due to the weather so will likely be tied up on the saturdays but if you are in Cardiff then most the teams we play are in that area and we usually go into town after the Cardiff games

Hastings and Taylor are locks for every team in my opinion. Even if you want two established halves to start the season with there is no reason not to select these 2 as your reserve options.

TMM is only a stop gap measure in my opinion and will probably flit in and out of the panthers as the deal with injuries/shifting positions. No decent job security so wouldn't risk him.

Hopefully we should find out about Pearce's punishment before the season starts so we should know how many round Niko is likely to get. I may be wrong here, but it is my understanding that Niko is the only likely candidate to fill in for Pearce so pretty much how ever many rounds Pearce is out, Niko will be in for. Means you can make an informed call and your own judgement as to whether he is worth it for say 5, 6, 7 or however many rounds, rather than risking it with someone like TMM. You shouldn't really be in a position where you have to have Niko as a scoring reserve so scores of say 25 (fairly basic stats for most halves) shouldn't be an issue in selecting him.

If you choose to run the 2 cashies route then I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be Hastings, Taylor, Niko

So Merrin at prop. What's everyone's thoughts? Will it make a difference. Still worth the coin?

More potential in the first pair for me

Papalii doesn't score nearly as well in the 2RF as he does a prop, his last 5 round scores were 24,28,28,38,37 all playing 80 minutes

most of his big scores boosted with tries

I've tweaked my team by putting J-Nik (npr) in as my 2nd hooker & bringing in B. Hunt in the halfs. Hunt will match or even better any scores of a gun 2nd hooker imo.
