Couple of snippets from Supercoach Whisperer...

Nathan Brown had surgery in the off season, is just out of boot and has just started training. Matterson favoured for lock for the first few rounds. (Don't think Matto scores that well as a 60-minute lock, but he'd get DPP and be a pick-up when he moves back to the edge.)

Oh, and Nathan Cleary hasn't started contact training yet.

That's an interesting shift with TPJ on the other edge and Thompson, Vaughan, and Jackson in the middle.
New recruits JAC and Burton. They are just missing a solid Hooker.
Surely the Bulldogs will improve on last season with that line-up

It does sound like a decent pack.

There is speculation that Matterson's move to the MID is longer-term and Brown may transition to being an impact player off the bench. Who knows what will happen with the Eels side. There is so much depth in the forwards there.

He already knows when Jack will get his first suspension of the season, I guess.

'Spose that makes Hetherington a tenuous buy, even if Mariner comes off the bench.

Can’t see Cleary being fit for round 1 then could be back round 3 or 4 which is shit. Now I have to play captain roulette..... and then gotta think do I leave say 250k itb to help me get Cleary when he’s back.

Wasn't there something posted here where Cleary has been doing contact training and really testing shoulder?

Regardless, still just over 3 weeks until R1, don't see how not doing contact yet means anything. If you get a mid-season injury you might restart contact training on Thurs and play on the weekend.

I have no idea what will happen (and tbh i dont expect him to miss any games), but it would be pretty cool from a fantasy perspective for Cleary to miss the first four weeks.

    Compared to Blake?

    Does Crichton still cost 350k?

Would open it up a bit. Don't actually know what I'd do. Not loving $1m Turbo, might be captain Haas.

Yeah it'd open up the field a bit, with people having to decide what to do with him, we might actually see some different teams.

Jack is the kind of player who starts the game fully intending to play as hard as he can without getting penalised...and then the adrenaline kicks in, his eyes roll back in his head and he tries to take an opponent's head off. Born in the wrong century. Would have been awesome in the Dogs pacs of the late 70s and 80s.  cheer

What are the dogs going to do when Jack, Tevita & Jackson are all suspended at the same time
