i'm still struggling to see any REAL value in the 130/134k forwards.

d saifiti - probably be in and out of hte team in a flash. mickey paea is only out due to injury, and stockwell missed most of last year with injury - probably just needs some match fitness/kick up the butt.
j saifiti - probably the best option from what i read about him and should hold onto the 2nd row spot for a while unless korbin goes back there?
bhana - probably only get around 30 mins.
zane musgrove - will likely get a run in 1st rnd but when turgess and gurgess return there isnt alot of room behind them and clark+tyrell
Leuluai - looks tempting but napa evans moa should do the bulk of the minutes. liu and SST coverage at lock. not alot of room for him. 25 mins?
Josh Aloiai - another tempting one but where does he find the minutes? woods grant sue play big mins in the middle then ava/edwards off the bench
    ben henry - dud?!

any others? cos i'm looking for the best option...

Im looking at Aloiai, leuluai and j saifiti. None will be in my 17 but yes they all have their downsides. The problem eith j niko is after 6 weeks he will end up reserve hooker meaning a force trade if u dont want to lose the money he made

    .

If I was confident Bhana would get a guaranteed 30 minutes each week I'd probably jump on him.

I just think that at some point Levi will earn his way back into the team. that's the problem with the Knight's rookies, such poor job security.

I'll be punting on J Saifiti on the asusmption that even if he loses his starting spot before Tariq comes back, he'll at least keep a bench spot

    (a) Taupau or (b) Woods

    If (a) Surgess frf
    If (b) Surgess 2fr

I see more upside in Taupau. Thoughts & thanks.

How much planning are people putting into their team re: bye rounds. Surely if a player is a 'season keeper' like say Surgess you have to make sure you have players in your 2rf who will play the weeks he is out, no point trading in and out keepers right? Like Surgess, Taupau, Cartwright, is a terrible trio with regards to byes cos all 3 miss round 12. Or do you say screw it and cop it on the chin (loss of points/position) because they are who you want and byes be damned?

There's an awesome article on Renegades or perhaps SC talk about the byes this year. basically planning for byes has got progressively harder the last 2-3 years wth now only one team playing all the byes and less teams playing at least 2 origin byes etc. and also it's rd 12 not rd 11 now.

After seeing the chaos of injuries/suspensions in the early rounds last year and even this preseason I've made the decision to lay off buy planning completely this pre-season.

With so many cash cow options, rounds 4-10 will see a lot of turnover in most teams and that's when I'll personally be aiming to have a look at who to bring in.

    Thoughts?

    C. Smith & Merrin
    J. Segeyaro & C. Parker.

Been tossing this one up for 3 days now so any help would be appreciated. For mine Segeyaro has the ability to go biggest but (Griffin) and therefore Smith & Merrin seem to be the safer option...

Woods for consistency,  Taupau more erratic scores but could go huge on his day.

I tried Surgess in both positions in my squad but found team balance much better with him in the 2nd row, so I reckon (b)

only bye planning i've done is to try minimise origin players in my squad.

at the end of the day every players misses a minimum of two rounds. obviously you need to maximise the players you have on field during bye rounds by having an even spread of players, but right now its not on my radar. as said above, injuries will happen and cause headaches.

haha. these are the exact three for me. i will definitely have j saifiti but i might skip on the others. even throwing j saifiti in there gives me memories of john palavi last year.

i also have pauli pauli atm. not sure he'll be worth it but he seems assured of a spot and probably 35 mins a game at least. doesnt necessarily mean alot of points unless he picks up some tries.

My memory is a bit hazy, but I think I picked him up around 72k.

Channel 7 news just reported that the Roosters are seeking a 4 match ban for Mitchell Pearce. Wonder what the NRL will do ?

Liam Knight at Manly is a chance.
If he's on the bench his job security isn't good with Buhrer to come back.

I'm definitely taking a punt on Mataora I think he'll improve and sounds like hes ready to hook in. My other option was to keep Pauli

No. I just worked him back into my team. Centre position is ridiculously garbage this season. I'm running with Claw, Lafai, Auva'a & Gutherson at the moment (TLT dependent).

Kind of hoping Latrell Mitchell is named at centre to give him DPP status and open up a couple more options.

I've given up on my team until tomorrow afternoon. I'm sure there will be a number of shocks and surprises.

I'm trying to decide between these two
    A. Lichaa + Fifita
    B. Smith + Woods

Less total ownership with option A so bit of a differential over option B.
