Yeah best not start with him Welshy, I need a win in at least one league to kick my season off right and trouncing you in Random's should be good enough I guess.

Renegades made a good post about why you have to run with Surgess. If he bombs well just about everyone else who takes Fantasy seriously is likely to be in the same predicament and if he picks up where he left off and you don't have him you'll be kicking yourself.

I was set on starting the year with Mike Cooper over Surgess and bringing Surgess in after 5 rounds. Realised it wasn't worth saving ~25k and wasting a trade

Johnny B Goode wrote:On CTR's I had Hurrell to start with but after it looked like he was long odds I went with CLaw but if Hurrell's named Round 1 I wonder if I should put him back in my team. CLaw is far more reliable going purely by base stats being a back-rower and all but Hurrell's capable of those 80 point games as well which balances out his average games. Job security's a worry though, first time the Warriors drop back to back games Hurrell will be blamed for it and dropped.

McIvor said during 9's commentary that Cappy said Lolo was likely to play Centre. Then there's Ayshford and Kata and rumour is Kata may play wing. It's no secret Cappy is not a fan of Hurrell. Trbo put his head on the wrong side but it was carbon copy almost of the Tupou injury which he was supposed to change his running style. Why would a coach want that headache when he's a turnstile in defence. To top all that apparently a certain Monty Betham was a guest on Renegades podcast and said Hurrell will start NSW Cup.

I've gone Joey Leilua. He will start and looks back to old potential in trial

Absolute fantasy poison. Averaged 32 last 2 seasons at different clubs playing 80 mins basically. Makes 20-30 tackles a game if you're lucky

I have an interesting dilemna. How much value do you guys put on a DPP? I am going to run with Barba in my 17. Feeney would undoubtedly be a better match in the halves, so I can swap Barba in if needed. But I also want Hastings, Taylor and Nikorima. So I have put Feeney in my WFB, where I fancy there is less juicy cash cows. So now I cannot easily switch Barba to half if needed, and I don't need to select an Eden-esque nuffie. Is my DPP sacrifice for the better (IMO) cashie worth it?

Depends on who else you have as reserves, and who your other options for 4th reserve are. I assume that by running Taylor at 4th reserve you have some talent in the other 4 spots, as I am in the same predicament as you. Not sure if I want to gamble on Taylor at 4th ressie but I really like the make up of the rest of them to compensate

I really don't see too much danger in stating Taylor as a 4th reserve, historically half is one of the easiest positions for rookie to get decent scores, fair few tackles, km and involved in most things in attack

15 mates and I are playing a money league this season. $50 entry.

    $500 1st
    $200 2nd
    $100 highest season round score

We've also purchased a premiership fantasy NRL ring for the eventual champ and will have a piss up with all comp coaches at the end of the year. Should be fun.

thanks welshy and beast. I was thinking even if he is only scoring 25, that's still 10 more than what he costs and allows me to bring a 7th gun in Tedesco in. Reserves would be Lichaa, Carty, Lawrence and Taylor. And because Ted is a season keeper it would require one less trade. Might be worth the risk....

I don't have Milchs spreadsheet in front of me but I think he averaged something like 62 in the 10 games in which he played 80 minutes last season. Hard to pass that up, but will mean re-jigging a side I have been pretty set with for a while now..
