I think my last decision comes down to running Uto and Berry (in EMG to cover both WFB/CTR) -or- AFB up front with some crap centre like Vaillieiiea stashed in EMG.

Really want all of AFB, Uto and Berry but funds are too tight.

    NO HATE!

I just don’t see the massive appeal in Utoikamanu:

Priced at 45 – He went over this score 8 times (in 21 games) last year, with 1 of them coming from the bench. . 5 of those 8 games included a try.

In one of the other 3 games he scored over 45 he had 53 tackles (scored 55). His previous tackling best was 36 and averaged 27.6 tackles a game last year)

The other two were for scores of 56 and 65 where he ran for 160+ metres; which taking out games where he played less than 40 minutes, is 53 metres above his average.

Now I don’t want to discourage anyone from picking him as he was a junior Blues player, had massive wraps at the Eels and Tigers tried very hard to get him over, plus he is also a good IRL player… BUT I just have a feeling he comes a bit back down to Earth and sits around that 45-50 point scorer mark.

Happy to eat me words and pick him up if he shows signs he can score 50+ without scoring tries and irregularly making 50+ tackles a game, but IMO I feel more comfortable with the belief Arrow can get back to 50+ playing in what I expect to be one of the better teams this year.

Going to gamble on CHN this year. Bloke looks fit and with Sutton on the outer, he looks the goods baby.

I think he's definitely value, and there is a clear distinction between his starting and bench games, starting he averaged 50 in 51 mins last year. That said, if he averages 50, he'll only make 80-90k, so he would need to average 55+ to make a lot of money, and at that point he'd be a keeper. I don't own him because I've gone more guns and cows (have Ipap, Fifi, Haas and Cheese in my forward pack)

3 of those 10 games he started he scored a try and one of them he had 53 tackles for a score of 55, and then the other two that he scored over his BE he ran for 160+ metres; nearly 55 metres above his average from games over 40 minutes. I see where the value can be pulled from but I also see where the opposite argument can be made that maybe he scored a fair chunk of tries for a forward and had a great second half the year. As I said, happy for him to show me wrong, but my beer filled belly tells me to steer clear and a drop to Earth is incoming.

Unless Tapine gets exemption you lose him next week.

He'd be more popular if we knew what the deal was there.

Valid point, and again, I don't have him so I don't really mind if he drops down to earth.

If he did drop down to 450k or so I would probably buy him then and punt on a run of tries

He averaged 55 as starting prop playing over 40mins. 2 of the 3 tries scored in those games were in 46 and 41min games. I think he'll get minimum 50 mins

Playing over 50 minutes Stefano averaged 55 in 6 games with one try

In those games he scored a 68 with a try

    56 and 65 running for 160 metres

    and a 55 with 53 tackles

the other games he got 43 and 44

I can see why people aren't keen on Uto. Uto's value assumes that when he become a starter after origin last year - that is the new normal and he won't regress at all. Obviously its entirely possible that thise scores were an outlier and he can't sustain it. It's a gamble many people are willing to take, but can easily see how it doesn't pan out how they'd hope.

I don't see how Arrow is much of a better option though. Just don't see how his stats at souths support a lot of value.

I have JDB. His first full pre-season as an assured member of the team in years. Plays big minutes and has some attacking skill in him especially compared to plodders like Woods.

Haven't got heaps for you sorry bro as I haven’t worked with him like the others. Jireh is highly rated so I’d be surprised if he had jumped him in the pecking order. DSaf back rounds 2-4 depending on his fracture healing time. Barnett will be starting 2nd row eventually IMO and fitzgibbon will end up only getting 20-35 min once we are at full strength. Maybe this is just what I’m hoping for as a fan

O’Brien is very set on Mann playing most of the game at lock
