Re: Daily Fantasy Talk -NFL/NRL
Finished 5th in $2 biff last night and stayed there after updates for a $20 win. Lost my h2h when I stupidly had DCE over Moses.
Think I'll be loading up on cowboys players Thursday night.

Just a couple of cheap tournies tonight, not enough consistency in these teams to play a big h2h

Re: Daily Fantasy Talk -NFL/NRL
Think thats going to be a fairly common style team, lots of Cowboys backs with everyone expecting a big win.
Im going to whack 1 or 2 more $2 with a few pod's, no Thurston ect

Re: Daily Fantasy Talk -NFL/NRL
The more entrants in the comp, the more you need a big scoring POD to win.
Taking last Monday's game for example. Tedesco and Taupau put up big scores, but tonnes of people had both of them (87% and 80% ownership respectively) . It was the people that had Naiqama (11%) as well that were in the big money.
In H2H comps or without a tonne of entrants you can afford to play it a bit safer. But going back to the Game Theory thread, the idea in the big entrant tournaments is to do more than just get a solid score - you have to beat everyone else's score too.

Hear what your saying. Theoretically though, you don't need a big scoring POD. If no POD gets a big score, then you need to have the best combo of the higher % players. If a POD goes big and you have him then it helps and certainly increases your chances of winning, so long as the alternative in that position did not go even bigger still. You basically just need to have the highest combo of scores (durr).

Just note that if the highest combo of scores are all popular players that you might have to share your winnings.
If you play an all round contest it's unlikely you'll share an exact team with someone. But in a single game contest it's a real possibility. I've seen it a few times this year.

Re: Daily Fantasy Talk -NFL/NRL
Here is my MNF breakdown
screenshot software
You need to get the balance right. On MNF i knew Tapau/Tedesco/JTurbo/Woods would be highly owned and not only that but provide decent scores, I didnt expect all 4 to provide the value i needed but my guess at how high % ownership would be out weighed that so i had all 4 and built around that. At hooker i went Parcell because i knew he would come on later get around 40mins(he ended up with more) at a time when the Tigers leaked points in rd1 and be low owned due to coming off the bench. It was a good game for it with both teams playing 2 hookers so no standout 80min man. He was top scoring hooker and only owned by 8%.
Lewis Brown was my POD forward, He did a heap of work in defence the previous week and i also thought the Tigers opened up to the wide 2ndrowers fairly easily, i got lucky with his try. i knew that most people would be looking at a very cheap fwd after spending big on the other 3 so i knew spending 6.5k would mean POD
I went with Moses in the halves, he looked great rd1 and at 4.4k only needed 26 points to hit value, he also had massive upside which is shown now with his 47.90 a great tournie play.
Nofo was the favourite for most tries and thats where the points are so he was an easy selection. The last selection was the difference between 1st and 5th really, i went Lyon for no other reason then i thought there would be points in this game, he kicks goals and was a fair chance of either scoring or setting one up. I just didnt expect Manly to be so bad across the backline this year.
