I only share that so possibly it helps some people
You don't need to hit the nuclear pod option to make gains by trading out popular players
Or you don't need to pay overs and own all the popular guns early either while risking a bunch of risky cows that are gone in weeks

Just stick at it, even if you come last in the FOG league, would you still be happy with last in the FOG but 205th overall
This place isn't a competition, its a fun resource and if you want to get better then just pick and choose what info you like and make informed decisions.
Or if you are here for shits and giggles, or a party then up your gif game because that is the real competition

And come to a meetup for a beer or a coke zero
Disclaimer: not everyone here is accountants either haha

Point is you can't do it all in a week or 2, I started at 20774 after the first round
Took me weeks to fix my team, probably only happy enough with it now finally
Cost me trades but rather than complain about my start or about choosing the wrong guns I chose to target players with upside and trust my gut they could make up the difference of not having Haas/Ipap/Murray/Yeo/DCE

We are only 1/3rd of the way, plenty of time
Just have fun and don't worry about  'what it', 'should have' or things you can't control
What you can control is choose the best 17, a captain and make 2 trades
The rest don't stress over, the game is more enjoyable that way

You can be lucky or create your own luck

    Starting team 20774:

    Current team rank 669:

You coward not buying Reece Robson and getting yet another hooker. Who even are you nowadays?

    Yet......
If Cotter was my handcuff to Taumalolo, then might as well make it a trio and very tempted
Just didn't want to get my hopes up granville was out of the picture completely pre TLT

Schuster and Crichton aren't definite, but it looks nice for now haha

Only 7 players left from your original squad is quite the achievement after 8 rounds.

Angus vs schuster as a trade in for me this week with Leo to koula to fund a brojo upgrade if Fitzgibbon relegates him to the bench

    Any thoughts?

Both rd13 but angus more likely to play origin, angus more proven gun status, schuster younger and on the up career wise

    1. I see what you did there, nice

    2. In answer to your earlier question, it was Woolworths Ashgrove which, along with Woolworths Paddington, is prime Broncos territory. They are also my two closest supermarkets which is why I have had a few of the ‘spotted’ stories. Also my regular cafe is about 500mt from  Broncos HQ so there have been a few spots there as well

Edit : my personal fav was Turpin, Lodge and Ben Te’o having a coffee together a while ago discussing Brodie Croft being a weird cat…..Te’o was definitely the brains of the operation

I have ventured to that one at Ashgrove. That little milk bar Cafe there is incredible. Always grab a shake of some sort. Never been to the Paddington one.

I actually remember you posting that story before lol.

Geez some of you guys are doing well, I only have 7 round 13 players and that’s if Billy Smith plays without him 6. I’ll probs lose ground lol. Nah I’ll have to get a few more top guns like Lolo, Tohu, maybe Burton as well... awaiting team lists before doing anything.

Agreed. A couple of PODs will do the trick. Don't need to go nuclear. Bringing in Cleary in rd6 when he went large brought me from 251 to 29th. Yep Cleary, a POD. I might have brought in Teddy and Angus too in the last two weeks but alas! Also POD's. Trick is to get them before they go large. One out of three not so bad I suppose.

Anyone looking at Dylan Walker as an option if Jones is benched?

I know it’s a bit of an awkward price point though at 426k. If he is fit though he will get 50mins off the bench plays round 13.

Also re Adam Elliot, Whitehead has been out so he might not get as many mins with Whitehead back this week.

I was agonisingly 6k short of being able to do Fifita and L. Thompson to Angus and Hastings. Then I realised I finally had a good reason to get rid of Ilias. It's going to be nice not to um and ah every week over whether Ilias should scrape into my 17 or get pushed to EMG.

It’s a good point about whitehead, Elliot definitely has a lot of pros and some big cons,

Walker might find himself in the backline with Parker and Saab going down as well as Harper being rubbish

I had a close look at him.
His price is nice, and being bye-friendly is great.
His DPP isn't that handy (MID is good, HLF not so much)

Generally speaking he has a pretty solid 40-54 minute interchange role.
    If you look at the last 16 (regular season) games (with the same interchange role) you get this;
    53: 1 (ceiling game)
    40-49: 7
    30-39: 4
    20-29: 1
    9-16: 3

So based on that, about half his games are playable i.e. 40+
    The 30's games are more specifically; 34, 32, 32, 31 i.e. low 30's far from ideal.
The other 4 games are punishing.

So he probably makes money, but you only really want him in your 18-21 (maybe as a loop).
In terms of fantasy scoring; you could almost view him as a really bad version of Nanai.
Lower lows, and lower highs (Nanai for instance has hit 62 and 57), and Nanai has had 5/8 scores as fairly playable.

When viewing him as an EMG then $426k suddenly becomes very pricey - and no one who is holding there guns is likely to be able to afford that luxury.

Add in that he could find himself in a low PPM Centre position and it's a fairly easy pass for mine.
